Water temp was 53 to 56. The jig is a custom made jig my buddy makes which is real similar to Dirks. I cannot afford Dirks at $5/jig ?.

Decided to leave crappie alone for awhile and went bass fishing last 2 days. Wednesday fished around Tan-Tara area from about 10:30 till storms rolled in which I think was around 3 and had 4 keepers and some shorts on jigs. All fish were shallow with a consistent bite. Fished yesterday from noon till 4 and had 3 small keepers fishing in linn creek, 2 on spinnerbait and 1 on a jig. Water was chocolate in very back of linn creek from storms. 60k for spring and 100k for fall

I need to learn the shooting dock tactic myself, I am new to the crappie game. Spend most of my time bassing but the crappie taste good and it is fun when they are biting good. Spent the day with the grandson in the boat today, wish it was better fishing for him, maybe next time.

that sounds about what I have been doing around 28 mm to the nianguas, biggest was 13 inches. Last Monday I believe it was a 3.5 lb 18 inch crappie was caught on a spinnerbait and is up at Osage Beach Bait and Tackle in a bait tank.

We put in last couple years at Shawne Bend and not a problem, can't speak for other ramps. I am sure they are crowded, PB2 is the most popular and is where the festivities are on Sunday

It won't be that many boats, probably somewhere between 800-1200 boats. Fall BBB is bigger than the spring and especially this fall with the $100,000 pay day to winner

Well the wind and fishing were brutal on me today, only 1 keeper bass with about 7 shorts and 4 keeper crappie. Wind was whipping 2 foot rollers in places

If the weather kept trending like it was we would have seen spawning in March like we did a few years back. Fishing should be good next 2 days if you can hold the boat. Found some crappie on the bank a couple days back and checked it yesterday evening and water temps had dropped 5 degrees and they were gone. I will have to check them tomorrow to see if they moved back up.

I have not been bass fishing very much last couple weeks so not sure but the big boys sure have them figured out

Boy the fish were sure biting pretty good yesterday, even with cold front conditions, there were 7 bass caught that weighed over 7 pounds and 18.5 lbs didn't even get a check. I just saw that on another page, plus 17 keepers. Pretty good day. Said fish was caught by person in back of boat behind Jack and and other customer. I guess instead of putting out brush and chasing crappie should have been bass fishing ?

I say leave it dirty now, when water was in 40s and dirty I didn't like it, but now with warming water leave it dirty, these fish are shallow and will be. Actually water is clearing a bit around 28 mm compared to what it was. Have not been out in a while but that is about to change ?
