  1. You must of had quite a show - I was surprised to see the parking lot so full. Had to launch on the other end. My goal was walleyes, caught 3 - all short, pulling cranks. I did pick up lots of crappies, average length of 13 inches, several over 14. What I was surprised about, was that many came 40 feet down in 55 feet of water. I was pulling three lines, the shallowest running 10 ft towards shore and using snap weights on the other two lines, one 2 oz and the other 3 oz. I don't know if trolling is allowed in your tournaments, but I would suggest you give it a try. I had similar results last weekend doing the same. A few less fish, but of slightly larger size.
  2. I have fished many waters with Zebra mussels for quite a few years. Short term fishing seems affected, but the system seems to stabilize after a short time. The worst problem is in clogging of pipes and the like. A benefit is clearer water and I have heard that it can cover the lake floor locking in poisons like mercury, over time reducing levels in fish. Even though it is likely correct to blaim boats, it would also seem possible to me that as Pomme de Terre is eventually connected to the Missourri and Mississippi that they could have followed that channel as well.
  3. Was at Powersite Thursday and Friday, was unable to pick up any walleyes. Caught a few trout and bass fishing rogues on three ways. Spent some time talking to the locals and they mentioned eel worms. Can they be found anywhere in Missouri? Can you share methods on how to fish? Any help would be appreciated.
  4. Lac Seul is one heck of a fihery, been ther twice. Walleyes were the main target, but lots of big Northern pike, smallies, and muskies too. This is a big body of water (impondment) so guides are a good option, but certainly not necessary, especially during peak times. Shore lunch is the best.
