  1. Good link Dano. May just get one of these Thanks JJ
  2. Well I couldn't help myself so. There are a couple of size 20s Softies that I tied the last couple of nights In the Tying forum.
  3. Update!!!!!!! They all have worked also
  4. Mke you got mine right ? Zack I have seen your posts over there looks like you can tie like you can cast. (very well) JJ
  5. To add to what Leonard said, if the answer to Dano' question Is yes? Is that they also make good searching patterns for say swinging through the riffles. And for this I would use a pattern with alittle more "hay over here" say a Partridge and orange or the Greenbutt. Good luck stick a few for us that are not able to make it there quite yet. JJ
  6. I wish I would have bought that camera. Even though I did get a nice one I'm still very afraid to carry mine even in a ziplock. I have heard great things about that camers and have seen under water shots from it...
  7. Well I started getting notified by e-mail again so guess the problem is solved Thanks JJ
  8. Mine are in the mail and will be there by Monday
  9. Thanks for the recommendations on suppliers guys. Anyone know any references ie books, DVDs, links or St. Louis area masters that like fine bourbon or need fish tank or koi pond work? Ya Mike thanks for the heads up on the next O.F.F. meeting I have already decided to join up. Now that I know which side of the park that the meetings are not held on. I should be able to make the meeting on time. Also I think the learning curve would be greatly increased by having some experienced builder at least help point out the do nots of rod building. My main thing right now is trying to keep my self from rushing out and as they say not getting all my ducks in a row first . I am reading Al Campbell's on-line tutorial over at another forum and thinking about getting a DVD to go along on my personal learning curve. Thanks for all the info, JJ
  10. Bet that rod would pull a few nice heavy streamers and or the night giants roaming around Taney that would eat em. JJ
  11. Its done I have made up my mind. And now a build Is imminent. Got to pick out what size weight action and cost as well as where In my little place this is going to take place.
  12. Bringing this topic back up because I have just about filled up the tackle box and am considering a new or another box. I also can't see my self actually knowing what I will want to tie on any particular evening after a days fishing. So maybe a roller tool box might be the answer for me, but I don't have alot of materials as compared to many of those huge tying stations that I see pictures of in the magazines or on the net so there in lies my problem. JJ
  13. Same here! Tied, tagged, and just waiting on me to get to the post office. Guess I should get that done tomorrow.
  14. Good lookin flies guys!! Guess I will need to start looking for some spare foam around here. Wonder what some of this gray expanding foam in a can (I use it for building water falls and Koi Ponds around here) could make. Hmm where did those packing peanuts go. "O" now look what you've all started. LOL JJ
  15. Try swinging the soft hackles threw those riffles all the way down to the slower bend. Then also between the hatchery outlet and the bridge at the end of zone two. I have had alot of luck with them there and a couple of other places when I can find or wait for the space for a swing. Good luck and tight lines JJ
  16. Well Done bet a few of those "pro's" had there eyes wide open.
  17. Thanks Dano JJ
  18. Hi ya Dave Welcome, Now tell us all your secrets....j/k JJ
  19. Wow great fish and report! Thanks and congratulations to both of you!
  20. Recently I have not been receiving e-mail notification of replies to threads that I have posted to. I checked my e-mail settings and nothing appears to have changed. I would be grateful for any help or advice from a moderator or anyone that has an answer to this. Thanks, JJ
  21. * Typing like a Zombie* "Must be apart of a soft hackle discussion." CAUTION !!!! Light tippets require a very soft or sparse hand set and or lift. Not a traditional set of the hook if even required at all. They are great method for communing with nature nature. 1.Chuck that sucka out at a across and down, some say thirty degrees is ideal. However I try not to do any things requiring numbers while on the water. 2. Then forget about it and chat with a fellow angler, watch the funny looking tailless squirrels, the giant fish at your feat even though your very careful not to shuffle. Or maybe just the changing of the leaves. 3. Then snap back into reality as the line that has been sitting in your hand almost forgotten suddenly tries to free its self. Most of all throw'em they work. JJ
  22. Maybe someone should nominate Jared (Center Punch) to head the Official Meramac get together for the catch and release season.
  23. nice shot I have tried to snap a shot of butterflies before but for every good one get a ton of almosts and blurries .
  24. Howdy and welcome. Now that your beyond lurkin dont forget to leave a fishing report or two when the catching is so good you feel the need to brag and or share. JJ
