  1. I see people fishing all of the time on both sides. No one ever got a ticket. As far as I know that is all county parks property from the spillway to the Meramec. I could be wrong. Who gave you the ticket? (county park ranger, police officer, conservation agent etc.)
  2. I have had the same problem with tec-tan line lately too. I once had my drag set a little tight with 5.1 lb test and when I pulled the line it snapped! It used to be that the line was real sturdy and thin, but now when I use it I lose fairly small trout. I also got mine from Cabela's where they wouldn't refund me! Better luck with that line in the future.
  3. I have heard they're found around some of the corps of engineers lakes (norfork, stockton, and table rock) but I've also heard they move around a lot when there is hunting pressure in the area.
  4. I agree. Stocking fry probably would help the fish, after they grow bigger, not hit the powerbait the bucketeers throw out there as often. The fish would be smarter and the bucketeers wouldn't have as good of an opportunity to keep 15 fish a day. I think that they should also have conservation agents out there checking these people more often. I don't mind them keeping 4 fish but it irritates me when they go over the limit.
  5. I fished thursday morning around 9:00 to about 9:10 but gave my fish to the paddlefish research and processing center boat so I didn't leave the water til about 9:45.
  6. Fished it a couple of days ago and saw a guy catch two nice browns. The hatchery manager at roaring river said they did stock it a week and a half ago with 900 rainbows then again last wednesday with 300 more rainbows. There should be a lot of fish up in there right now.
  7. Fished the Neosho upstream from Twin Bridges boat ramp about two miles up at the iron bridge yesterday. Snagged for about ten minutes before I caught my limit, a nice 40#er. On my depthfinder I saw hundreds of fish in about 25 foot of water. Everybody out there seemed to be doing pretty good with a lot of fish on the sides of their boats. I also saw people doing real well from the bank right next to the bridge.
  8. I fished yesterday and today at the pot hole and at the mouth of Swan Creek and caught a few white bass. I got most of my fish close to shore. Got one close to three pounds on a blue fox vibrax. It was fairly tough with the wind, but a good day overall.
  9. I usually fish below Cotter. They have an access point at Cotter below the old bridge. I also follow the train tracks farther down to some spots downstream. Catch some nice Browns and an occasional Cutthroat along with tons of good size Rainbows. As far as flies go cracklebacks, scuds, sow bugs, and zebra midges all work well for me down there. As far as wading goes, it can be dangerous there at times when they generate water fast, but if you're careful you'll be fine. Good luck on the water.
  10. Went to the springs today. It was fairly crowded in the morning, and the fishing wasn't too good. We managed to catch one trout and a darn bluegill using doughbait from the park store. Don't normally like to fish with doughbait, more fly-fishing, but just too crowded to have casting room.
  11. How's the walleye fishing been on Norfork? Have the walleye started their run up Bryant Creek or the North Fork River yet? Any reports on how the Striper are hitting?
  12. Might go to the Niangua Arm this weekend to fish for some bass and maybe fish for walleye while I'm there. Where abouts are the walleye found and how do you catch them? Have a boat so I can get pretty much anywhere you can find them.
  13. Thanks. I'll check those out tonight.
  14. Where would you suggest going for early spring walleye? Have a boat but never caught many walleye in Missouri or Arkansas?
