  1. Only in Dry Run Creek and your too old for that.
  2. I have to say that practice is huge. If you will spend only 10 minutes a day in the front yard you will be amazed how well you can cast in a week. If you watch the rod tip the entire time you will begin to get the hang of it.
  3. Great report Leonard. I was down there on Saturday night above outlet 1. Caught a few but it was crowded in there.
  4. I was down at Taneycomo both Friday night and Saturday night around 10:00 to 2:00am. I saw a ton of people fishing but no reports yet. It seems Leanord is the only one who puts on reports about night fishing. Not trying to cause a fuss, but it would be nice to see more night fishing reports. On friday they were running water about 1 unit and it was tough. I was up by the cable and caught about 4 on a PMS. One of my fish was pushing 3 lbs. Saturday was a little better. Couldn't get a bit for the first hour and then we moved downstream close to the ledge and started hammering them on leeches. Caught 15 and missed another 20 strikes.
  5. I hate snakes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Welcome to the forum. Always glad to have a FLY fisherman join. DO you fish Taney at all and if so what is your favorite fly.
  7. Why do they call it Monkey Island?
  8. Welcome to the forum. Do you ever fish lower Taney for bass?
  9. Wish I had been there with you. Thanks for the report. I was there Saturday night on the ledge and caught some fat fish.
  10. I had one on like that last night but I let it go.
  11. So how did your power eggs work? Did you fill the cooler?
  12. Not to confuse you but if you like catching 40 - 60 fish a day you might want to use a bait we made up when we were kids. We fished at Meremac Springs mainly but it works great at Montauk too. Here is the SIMPLE recipe. 1. White Bread take off all the crust 3 pieces 2. Can of Sardines. Take 3 pieces of crustless white bread and mix with some sardine oil and need for about 5 minutes. Make sure you wrap it will in a baggie to keep it moist. It's fish bait and snack food all at the same time.
  13. I didn't know fly fisherman used powerbait too.
  14. That course in Forsyth has been closed for some time now. I would recommend Branson Creek or Murder Rock. Amazing courses.
  15. Shad patters rock for big rainbows if they are running water heavy.
  16. Nice one, I bet he has a brother or sister in there just like him.
  17. Welcome to the forum. Don't forget to boast when you post.
  18. Every one knows there is no good fishing in that creek. Come on people.
  19. I'm sure a fly fisherman would not have any problems with punctuation.
  20. You could always use jigs with a fly rod. I think if you learned a fly rod you would throw that spin rod away.
  21. Leonard, I can't believe a little rain would scare you away from night fishing. There's nothing like holding a 9 foot rod in the air waiting for lightning to strike you down. Come one live a little.
  22. Why would you hire a guide at a trout park.
  23. Seems like you guys had a good trip. I just took my 6 yr old daughter down there and she had a blast. She caught about 30 fish in 3 hours and had 3 big fish on. The problem she had with the big fish is she was not experienced enough in waders to follow the big fish downstream quickly. She was using 5x but it did not seem to help with the big ones. Great place and we are coming back soon for sure.
  24. Pumpkin Green lizard carolina rigged works great.
  25. I caught one like that last week, but it was so small I threw it back.
