    Swimming

Thanks guys... it's now safe to go back in the water
  2. new boat sounds in order
  3. Best place I've found on the lake, is BJ's smokehouse in shell knob.. Park boat in cove on south east side of rt39 bridge. Easy walk up. Have beer and great bbq. Big M has breakfast on Sat and Sun, opening at 830am... pretty good, just after a morning of fishing..
  4. A few friends came down for the weekend fishing. In the afternoon it got hot, so we headed over to the rock on point 25. While swimming, a few of us felt something bump us a few times, but couldn't figure it out. We were in about 55' of water. Does anyone know what kept bumping us? Fish? Snakes? What kind? Someone saw a copperhead swimming nearby. Is that a concern? Many people swim this area off their boats. I'm not going back in the water until I find out what it was. Anyone have any thoughts on the matter?
  5. I bought a place on TR 3 years ago and wish a slip would open up in my subdivision. Last one for sale, sold in 45 minutes. If you don't know the right person, at the right time, you're out of luck. It would be nice to have , just to store the boat or to have to swim off of with the kids and grand kids... You will regret not buying this slip down the road. Why not buy and sell if you don't need. Because, once you pass this opportunity up, you may not get another chance.. One reason why the price is so high, is old fashion supply and demand. Only so many slips nearby... economy tough right now, but down the road when things heat up again, you won't get another opportunity to buy this slip. Once people buy them, they tie it to there property and less become available when you want one.. So, I recommend buying now, use for the boat, swimming and investment. Not to mention the conveinence of not having to put in and out all the time. At that is a pain.
  6. Bill, thanks for the great information.. I'm new to TR and this site and you've done a great job promoting the lake and making us all better fisherman. I've got a place in Emerald Beach and fish that area all the time. So if you see a blue and tan sylvan, say hello..
  7. Must have been something in the air.. Saturday, I had problems too... launched the boat, detached the strap, only to realize I didn't have the keys to start. Wind pushed me out... Went to use the trolling motor, only to realize i hadn't hooked up the wires. Rushed to get that right, got boat on the trailer, went home for keys and started all over again. Lost a jig to the rocks on the first cast. After that, it was time to light up a cigar..... sit back and troll. Transducer was detached as the glue didn't hold it like I had hoped. Someone needs to design a replacement bracket for transducers so you don't have to replace the whole wiring and transducer. Other than that... caught 1 small walleye and 3 small bass in the afternoon.
  8. How about a flag for the back of the boat... Maybe a pirate or viking
  9. Here's a thought... catch and release all bass, Eat the crappie, white bass and walleye.
  10. Thanks for the tips... I am bringing some friends down to the lake the 25th of April. Any thoughts on what the bass will be hitting on at that time?
  11. I am down at the lake this sunday only. I have a place down in Emerald Beach area and was interested in hearing if anyone is fishing the area. Only getting a few hours Sunday to fix and want to make the most of it. What's everyone catching, using and where? Thanks, Glenn ps. I have a blue and brown sylvan, stop and say hi if you are in the area.
