I've used the frogg toggs in Ketchikan Alaska while salmon fishing, and the guide I was with was thoroughly impressed with how dry it kept me. I never did get any leaks. Great stuff for the money. The secret to keeping it from tearing out is making sure you get a size that gives you room to move. I have a set of heavier cableas brand raingear I use in the winter with fleece underneath.

Just happy to be fishing. The 4 kept were good eating size though. That a plus. Sam did you try trolling up around K dock for walleye at all lately?

Well boyz, I fished my butt off the last 2 days down there, and I came to one conclusion.....I don't know if anyone else believes in it or not, but I absolutely do, and it has effected me the last couple of days as it has you guys apparently........ The high pressure system that came through monday kind of killed things. High bluebird skies, no clouds and no wind. I know better than to fish under these conditions. The moon not the best neither. We need a storm to come through BAD. 08/12---we fished hard and managed 3 keeper eyes best only 19 inches and about 8 or 9 other shorts. Caught nothing trolling. Ended up pulling 1 1/2 ounce bottom bouncers with a gold northland spinner/crawler harness. Like you guys said, No whites on the surface and I didn't even see a kentucky chasing shad. 08/13----they changed from wanting a gold to silver spinner and caught 8 or 9 more with 1 keeper. Only fished a half day before coming home. Still did not see any whites around the area and only a couple of kentuckies on the surface. I found lots of fish around Lead Hill, they just didn't want to eat. I even took a 1/4 ounce silver jig head tipped with a crawler and dropped it on top of them. turned the sensitivity up on the LCX113 and watched as the jig fell to them. They would obviously nose up to it and swim off. I did manage to aggeravate a couple into grabbing it. Tough, tough conditions for walleye fishing. Its sounds a if they were bitiing really well up until sunday or so. Oh well, we can't control mother nature.....Yet. Good luck ya'll, Jason

Summer Fishing On The Rock - Bass/walleye
rangerman replied to BleacherBum28's topic in Table Rock Lake
wackinbass, I would if i were down there, but i reside in franklin county, and have a house at kimberling city. Don't know when I'll get back down that way, I kind of play it by ear. There is also good walleye and sauger fishing on the mighty miss if you hit it right. Where are you from? Jason -
NickIl, I fish walleye down south at TR and Bull Shoals. I also fish LOZ quite a bit and yes there are quite a few eyes in it. There is a pouplation strong enough to go out and target them. I have gotten fish up to 8 pounds there and a couple of years back someone got one that was 14 pounds, however, that was in the spring. Fish the same areas as you would anywhere else. Inside channel bends with gravel. I have also found them suspending on the outside channel bends near bluffs. Here is the kicker, the fish generally hang in the 10-18 foot depths even this time of year. The large one I caught last year in august was out of 18 foot of water and I was trolling 14 foot range. Also fish early, try to be off the water by 10:00 or so. With the boat traffic it seems it pushes the fish down and it really isn't worth the problems your encounter with the boating crowd down there. Try to match the hatch. Medium size shad shaped baits work great down there and pull them at about 2.1mph. Go get'em Jason

I'll be down 08/12-13. Can't wait! I am going to fish the lead hill area primarily with BB. Might try some new things to bring up a lunker. I'll be in a 621 ranger marroon/cherry/tan sparkle (pops boat). My ranger is going to stay home this trip. Such a sad thing, but alot easier on the pocketbook. If anyone is out stop and say hi. Jason

Summer Fishing On The Rock - Bass/walleye
rangerman replied to BleacherBum28's topic in Table Rock Lake
Bleacherbum I target the eyes on table rock, and have found trolling is about the most effective method. You can cover alot of water and locate active feeding fish. I've also caught them on bottom bouncers, threeways, and snapweights. The walleye and sunlight thing, is really a myth I believe. I've caught them on clear days up shallow and down deep on cloudy days. I believe firmly moon times have an effect on when the fish are going to be actively feeding. They do love the theremocline, Find the thermocline and fish the sloping gravel points on the inside channel bends. There are also a few eyes that hang suspended in the tree tops, on the outside bends. Once you locate and figure out the TR eyes it is pretty satisfying. Good luck -
Have you guys been down by Lead HIll. There were ALOT of whites hanging on the east side of the flats. They would drive you crazy while you were trying to catch walleye. Apparently Martin found them there as well. so they have got to be staying around the immediate area.

darn rps, take no prisoners, good job buddy. Get them on FF?

Guys it really all depends what county this guy is charged in and how good the prosecutors office is. Trust me, I have made some really strong felony cases against "prior and persistant offenders" and they still get off with 5 years probation. I hope he does get what is coming to him. I have also made cases for counties in which the suspect committed the crime in theirs and I caught them in mine, and they have gotten the book thrown at them. Anyone can file a civil suit on top of the criminal matter. One of my guys was injured in a meth lab when a "tank" blew up and he ended up getting convicted on the manufacturing charge and lost the civil suit in the amount of a little over 2 million. Naturally its a doper and he won't get anything from him. There is no doubt however, this is going to be a long investigation into looking for the stolen property and I sure additional charges will follow. I don't know if this was reported in the first few threads, however, this guy was apparently working all 3 lakes (LOZ,TR,Truman) looking for tournaments.

My dad is an individual who knows ALOT about lightening. He was cultivating a bean field when a bolt of lightening came straight down and popped the tractor. Wasn't hurt that time. He was darn near hit on a dozer when there really wasn't any weather around. And he did get hit standing in the kitchen during a thunderstorm. That one freaked him out as it knocked him on his butt. A trooper friend and I had just finished up working an vehicle accident last year, and were just sitting in our cars talking. We have in car computers we use for running wants and warrants. The storm was really starting to roll in, and I said my farewells and left him so he could complete his paperwork. I pulled away and got about 100 or so yards away when I looked in my rearview and saw a blinding flash of light close to where we were sitting. It didn't hit his car, but it was with 80 or so yards and it fried ever electrical device in the car as well as the car electronics itself. Scared me to death but it really got to him.

Spinnaker a couple of years ago, I was fishing point 9 and was catching them hot and heavy. Noticed the dark clouds starting to roll my way, but fishing got the better of me. As the clouds got closer, I made a long cast and I watched as my bait contacted the water and the line hung in the air darn near where the lure contacted the water all the way back to the boat. The line was about 2 feet off of the water. I kind of started thinking this probably isn't good. I started my retrieve and upon getting the rod tip on my Gloomis at about the 10-11 o'clock position, it started buzzing loud enough to hear it. The tip was also visually vibrating. That is when I got the hell off of the lake. I got back to the dock and friends who I had been there with heard the story and didn't believe me. They each then just held the rod and they got the same reaction. weather is scary stuff, Glad you made it in.

Ranged from 5 to about 6 1/2. Good fish anywhere, felt lucky to have a couple of days like I did. Probably be a long time, before I can duplicate it again but who knows.

Eric, From what I've seen eyes will move in loose schools from structure to struture or following baitfish. It was just interesting that someone is actually catching some eyes down there near the dam. I knew there had to be some down there somewhere. Got some good ones at BS a couple of weeks ago (pic's on upper BS thread) but I know there is a few real big ones in TR somewhere. Guess I'll start fishing TR more often. PS I have a Ranger 620DVS, big waters, boat wakes, big waves, nothing stops her. Love that boat. Thanks Jason

Fun Fishing Terrestrials On Taneycomo
rangerman replied to Brian K. Shaffer's topic in Upper Lake Taneycomo
I talked with another agent and our regional supervisor here in Franklin County yesterday. A coffee bean is considered a food source and they both advised they would write someone for using it. After knowing these guys for awhile, I told them I thought this was horse@#$! and that is like me writing people for a taillight out. Then I started thinking about it, I have eaten chocolate covered coffee beans. Soooooooooo? -
Fun Fishing Terrestrials On Taneycomo
rangerman replied to Brian K. Shaffer's topic in Upper Lake Taneycomo
You guys are great! I don't want to say anything as I want this to keep going. I am in law enforcement and worked closely with the agents in my county. When I asked him about this today, he laughed and shook his head. I think you guys who are using your beans are safe. But the enforcers are different from one person to the other. I am generally fairly easy going unlike all of these new baby cops I got running around to want to hammer everyone they see. In the meantime, I will keep listening if you could PLEASE keep this going. Please carry on, Jason -
Eric, I need a report with more info it is just to vague and I don't think I could catch a fish........ Just kidding, you do a great job. I do have one question, I don't really care about the bass as I leave that to you guys. Where did you pick the eye's up if you don't mind saying. I love chasing walleye on TR as it is a reall challenge and I know there is a state record in there somewhere to be caught. I generally fish the upper ends of the lake, however, it sounds like you are close to the dam. Thanks in advance and keep up the good work, Jason

Go get 'em Stone, In all seriousness, I think was just at the right place, right time. A major weather front pushing through didn't hurt anything neither. There are definitely some big eyes in the vicinity of Tucke Hollow. How big was the one you took a picture of, it looks like a good one. I've started thinking about coming down there and fishing under lights. Never done it, kind of sounds like fun. Jason
-
How much is that light?, where did you find it?

The flats across from Lead Hill were absolutely loaded up with whites when I was down last week. I couldn't get a crankbait through them to get to the walleye most of the time.

I put in around Beaver Creek on 07/15 andd didn't do so hot. On 07/16 I put in at tucker hollow and fished the flats around there. I caught a few small eyes and while taking a break for lunch pulled a spinner rig in about 32 foot of water. Lost a real nice eye, I figured around 9 pounds or so. I then moved down the lake farther and after switching to reef runners in around 28 foot of water, a short pass produced a 24 1/2 incher. Shortly after that, I ended up with a 25 1/2 incher. Caught a limit with a 19 incher and another about that size. Caught a total of 23 eyes that day. 07/17---I fished the same area and ended the day with another limit and 19 eyes with a 25 incher caught and another around 24.. 07/19----I fished with powerdive and we caught alot of eyes most of them smaller, but caught 3 keepers with one really nice fish lost at the boat in the same area I caught the other 3 big ones. 07/20---I fished part of the day before heading home and caught 7 eyes with one keeper. The white bass absolutely drove me nuts that day and I caught about 25 of them with 3 triples on. The bigger fish were defintely hanging a bit deeper, and wanted pearl colored baits. There were guys catching some on crawler rigs, but the quality of fish were nothing compared to the fish I trolled up. It seemed the bigger the bait the better the fish. Was trolling at around 2.2mph.

Beaver creek it is. Sam, I'll be down fishing BS all week, I'll keep an eye out for you.

Anybody know what K Docks ramp looks like? I know boat size matters on that ramp, I want to put in my Ranger 620dvs. Thanks. Jason

a BIG Striper is an absolute glutton. He will eat anything he can get in his mouth. Buddy of mine and I had an absolute monster, I believe and honest 40 to 50 pounds come up and grab a 14 or so inch kentucky he was fighting. Just inhaled it, he fed it line for a little bit but couldn't get a hook into it. This was up in the White River Arm. Stripers and hybrids are pretty cool fish though.

IF they stocked YP the walleyes would definitely be happy.
