  1. Congrats Leonard. What a great catch. Haven't been on the site in awhile. Heading down for the weekend to go after them and can't hardly wait.
  2. Rangerman could you take me fishing with ya sometime this week? I'll be here in Tablerock until Friday? I sure would love to go out and target some eyes. I'm usually fishing for bass and giant bluecats on the Missouri and Mississippi river and thought this might be a change of pace for me. I've only caught one walleye and he went about 7lbs 27".

  4. Thanks BigDub.
  5. Here's my biggest Taneycomo fish so far. It's a 7.96lb walleye and a 4.9oz smallie. Caught them in the 2008 on the same day. Probably came up through Beaver Creek when the flooding was taking place in Taneycomo.
  6. OMG! What did that Brown weigh in at anyway? What a giant. Nice job Summer.
  7. Excellent job on the fishing and nice report. Thanks!
  8. Nice Find Leonard. Flatheads are truly delicious although in general I too don't prefer the taste of catfish.
  9. Don, Awesome pics of ol' Table Rock Dam. A 19" sucker is nothing to frown upon my friend - nice catch!
  10. Thanks Leonard. I'm happy to be a member of a forum that contains so much useful information.
  11. Thats an awesome video Phil. Nice job.
  12. Scudman, I caught this 7.96lb 27" walleye and monster smallie just 4mo's earlier than the night you caught your fish with Leonard (May 2008) on a night mission on Taneycomo. Thanks for posting your picture. I caught mine on a spoon in 15' water about 250yds from Tablerock dam. Needless to say, I ate it and got a skin mount of it. The smallie was released and I now have a replica of the 4lb monster.
  13. Well said Fishinwrench. I'd also try throwing some Norman DD22's and Rapala DT12's on main lake & secondary points. You might also try burning a wiggle wart past brush piles and don't ever forget throwing a jig around the docks. Here's a post spawner that I caught on a black/blue jig in 6' water out of the Grand Glaze arm last week on the Weds night PB2 tournament. Hope this helps you - Good luck!
  14. Hey thanks Phil...I will look into that. How's Taney looking right now? I'll be down there in about 10days or so with my gal and our boat. Probably gonna have to make it over to your place to say hello. Thanks!
  15. No worries wrench...12.8lbs....in Missouri? Wow...I've never got a bass quite that big. My largest bass caught in Missouri waters anyway is 10lbs even and she was caught in 1996 out of no other than LOZ Gravois arm. Things always get silly with regards to email postings and their translation so don't worry about it. I must say that I've never had smallmouth but a local I ran into while fishing Upper Taney told me that smallies are his absolute favorite fish to eat. No thats crazy insane right there! :-)
  16. Sorry to dissapoint you Fishinwrench; however, the truth is that all of the cats were caught close to my home on the Missouri and Mississippi River systems and were released unharmed (including the fish on the stringer you smart arse Fishinwrench) which was for a fish pic because at the time we didn't have any water in the 60gal livewells. I only fish rod & reel and I guide as well on the upper Mississippi River from May thru Aug. I've never jugged, trott lined or snagged in my life but it would be nice to snag and kill some of those darn jumpin' big heads/asians & silvers. I was fortunate to have learned allot about fishing current and particularly big rivers from a couple of G3 Yamaha pro's as well as the current world record holder. Let's see what "giant" fish pic's you have Fishinwrench? You don't even want me to bust out with the largemouth and kentucky pics do ya? It will shame you I guarantee.......Post them pic's of yours or quit your trash talking cause I don't have time to entertain it anymore.
  17. Those were pretty nice....but if you have pics of any "giants" , Please share. Yeah, here are just a few more "giants" that I've caught for you to comment on Fishinwrench. C'mon....guys of course they were released to fight again.
  18. Everyone please relax and take it easy over my smallies on a stringer. I should have mentioned in my post that none of these smallies were kept for my consumption. All of these bronzebacks were released unharmed including the trophy 4lb 9oz one. I actually got a replica of this fish and it sits high above my fireplace. I did; however, keep the walleye and I made a skin taxidermy mount out of it. Consequently, I have changed my original post so that everyone knows that I didn't keep any smallies to eat. Sometimes it helps if you put fish on a stringer for the photo shoot. I can tell you all that it was truly interesting to see everybody's incorrect assumptions about me; however, as if I actually sat down and ate these beautiful fish when they truly didn't know anything about my fishing day or my fishing ethics for that matter. Needless to say, I catch big fish all of the time and release them unharmed. In addition, I know that there is a sustainable population of smallies in Taneycomo because I know how to catch them and I have time and time again for the past 10 years or so. I suppose some of you might just be jealous since afterall........you truly don't know how to catch giant smallies on your own.
  19. Here's what I caught while fishing a black/olive 1/8th oz maribou jig in June of 2008 out of Taneycomo and I firmly agree with Lilley that the fish entered Taney over the table rock dam during the flooding. This fish went 4lb 9oz. FYI....These fish were only on the stringer for the purpose of taking pictures only. All of these fish were released unharmed so that I can catch them again this season. I did; however, get a replica mounth of the biggest one. On this same trip I also caught a 6.96lb 27" walleye on a vertical jigged spoon out of a deep pool with moderate current.
  20. Yeah I firmly agree with Lilley and Trav. Here's what I caught while vertical jigging a spoon in mid June of 2008 out of Taneycomo. The fish probably entered Taney over the table rock dam during the heavy flooding. I got this fish mounted and it went 27" & weighed 6.96lbs. The other picture is a fat 4lb 9oz bronzeback that was caught on the same trip using a black/olive 1/8th oz maribou jig in 12' water column and she was released unharmed of course.
