  1. I have 3 batteries in mine, all in the back & an extra 6 gal tank in the rear in addition to 18 gal up front. I have considered removing the 18 gal & just running 2 6's in the back. Storage is a minimun on my boat. What i need to do is run it dry then put an extra 6 in the rear to see how that make it plane out. I've never boat before that planed out to much. I see your from Owensville you ever run on the gasconade
  2. Seth, So how do you like your F&F, I have a 1756 with a 115 Merc.. I like it & it can go extremely shallow, the only complaint I have is it nose heavy. It planes out to good. I talked to Joe at Trout & Sons and he said the F&F's were notorius for that. I do have an 18 gl take up front under the deck. Joe
  3. Yeah I really like St James, Ive spent my fair share of time out on th meremac & @ the springs. That was when I was landlocked, now that I finally got a boat I have been going to the Gasconade mostly to Jerome & a few times to Bell Chutes. Personally I like the BC area but it easier to take the interstate to Jerome. My next outing is going to be on the Osage not sure where, Im thinking of putting in off of 54 near Osage Beach. I would also have to agree that we do have good wine in St James, several of the local wineries are worth checking out. I prefer the blackberry or school house white Joe
  4. I hope this hasn't been covered, as I looked through several pages. I have never been on the Osage & am wanting to hit the river the weekend of 21st this month, weather permitting. I have passed over the Osage on the way to Jeff City from the Rolla area 7 had planned on putting in at the access you can see from Hwy 63/50 bridge. I am not targeting any particular fish, I'd like to catch some striper/hybrids, but also wouldnt complain if I got into some crappie. I was also hoping to catch a cat or to as well. So the question is should I put in closer to the dam, or is down near JC decent fishing as well. I also wouldn't mind motring out into the Missouri. Also my father-n-law was telling me about a dike or old dam a short ways upstream from the 63/50 bridge, can you go over this with a jet or not. Ive had friends tell me the Osage has been known to put a few holes in boat and Id hate to put my boat out of commission before summer even gets here. Thanks in advance & sorry so long winded.
  5. Hello everyone, im new to the sight. I found it while searching for tips onthe Osage & Gasconade. From what I've seen so far this is a good site, lots of seasoned vets willing to share their secrets. I just bought my boat back in Nov, its a 1752 F&F flat bottom with a 115 merc jet. I fish mostly on the Gasconade & wanna hit the Osage & perhaps the Lake. Although running a flat bottom on thebigger lakes intimidates me abit. Anyway greeting from St james. Joe
