  1. Thanks for this. I found the area specific regs for Norfork. Looked several times got nothing but this time I found them. Striped bass must be 20 inches or longer to keep. Striped and hybrid bass combined daily limit is three. Walleye must be at least 18 inches long to keep. Walleye daily limit is four.
  2. Really? Read Stripers are being caught along with walleyes if you know where to go and how deep to fish. Hoping that in 3 weeks, it will only get better.
  3. Gonna be there in a few weeks and I wanted to make sure I understand the daily limits. Walleye - 6 with no length limit Stripers/Hybrids (combined) - 6 with no length limit Seems like if you are fishing in MO then: Walleye - 6 (minimum 18 inches) Stripers/Hybrids (combined) - 6 but Stripers must be a minimum of 18 inches Please correct me if I am wrong! Don't want to get in trouble.
  4. Had a good day with Mike today. We we're everywhere. Could mark walleyes in many of those places but they weren't cooperating. Finally located some active fish up the Theodosia arm off points with flats on one side and steep drop off on the other. Fished in 35 fow using slow death rigs. Caught 2 shorts, 1 barely legal and one 20 incher.
  5. Started the day bottom bouncing outside of Sister Creek. Worked our way to the Oakland Rec area then across to the saddle. Gave up on the walleye at this point and went for bass. Again caught some nice lm's, spots and wife nailed a 3.5 lb smallie. Very nice. Used minnows and spoons fishing over trees that topped out at 40 fow. Finding bait fish was key.
  6. Thanks Fish. Guy at the marina says they are on points at 35 to 37 fow. Says we should be bottom bouncing with a crawler rig. Gonna try that tomorrow morning. Will report back tomorrow.
  7. Well we're here now. Can't find any walleyes. Going out Thursday with Mike to see if we can find them. Been fishing in 40 fow and deeper. Are the walleyes suspending or hiding in the rocks or brush piles. And what does it take to entice them to bite? Having a good time catching bass (white, lm, sm, and spots). Wife caught a nice 4.5 lb LM today fishing in 40 fow off a bluff over trees submerged down at 50 and 60. Also been catching some nice spots in the same area. She was using a minnow and I have been jigging with a spoon. Both seem equally effective.
  8. Thanks Mike. Gonna be down there for a week starting next weekend.

What type of area were you seeing fish in (points, flats, drop offs) and at what depths?

Ham, Have you turned your Basscat loose yet? Gonna be there in a few weeks, trying to nail down an area so we don't have to motor too far.
  11. Ron, You mean in the area of the Peel Ferry?
  12. DCF, Thanks. We stayed in the Diamond City area last year in late October and there are a number of reasonable places to stay there. I remember though that walleye fishing was a total zero. Think the lake was turning over.
  13. Wife requires some kind of kitchen or at least a microwave and a full size refrigerator (place to keep the fish we catch). Anyone else have an area to recommend or are you keeping the best for yourself?
  14. Thanks. My wife is a bigger fishing nut than I am. We are there to see who can land the biggest and/or most fish. We generally bring our own food to keep the cost down. If we go shopping, it's to stock up on lures and such. LOL Any reasonably priced places to stay in the Tucker Hollow area?
  15. No one have any suggestions about this?
  16. Hi, Wife and I will be there around October 5. We are focused mostly on walleyes. We don't want to burn up a lot of gas trying to get to a good spot. What part of the lake is best in early October for walleyes. Any info is much appreciated.
  17. Think my wife would resent you calling her a young boy. LOL Yes we were there fishing during the day, have a Basscat, steel blue color.
  18. Was there over the 4th holiday and weekend. Couldn't locate any walleyes so we switched to bass and had a great time. Caught many 3 and 4 pounders using plastic worms fishing the brush piles on points near flats in 15 to 20 fow.
  19. Thanks again. Tell her Fort Zumwalt located in O'fallon MO.
  20. Thanks for the reply DCF and the link. Was hoping someone can help me decide which part of the lake offers the best opportunity to catch a limit of walleye.
  21. Hi, Wife and I are coming from St. Louis and will be there the whole week mostly fishing for walleye, white bass, black bass, pretty much in that order. We love fishing this time of year because it's nice and cool and the lake is quiet, also the fishing is usually good. Bull Shoals is a big lake and I don't want to burn a lot of fuel if we can avoid it. Wondering what part of the lake should we be concentrating on so we know where to stay? Of course any tips on what to use and where would always be welcome. Thanks in advance for any and all comments.
  22. Mike, All of your info is greatly appreciated. Thank you very much, Kramr
  23. Thanks Mike. This is great advice. But of course I have more questions. 1. I do have good electronics. What does current look like on the screen? 2. What's your jigging technique and favorite spoon? Thanks again.
  24. Hi All, Wife and I will be coming to BS soon. I'm trying to get a feel for the lake by reading all of the posts. One thing that I am wondering about is how much effect power generation has on the bite. Any other tips about fishing for walleye and bass would be appreciated as well. Thanks, K
  25. Wife and I are planning a trip July 24 - 27. We'll be fishing for Bass, Crappie, and Walleye. We sure could use some advice on where to fish (what part of the lake) for each species and what techniques would work best. Read that the walleye stocking program is yielding some good numbers. Is that true?
