  1. We had four keepers - one was close to 21". We had a couple that were boatside release that were def. keepers. Find the baitfish and the thermocline and you are set.
  2. Caught this 15 pound flathead while throwing a bass jig. Unexpected and fun.
  3. We went out last Sat. and caught 12 walleye. Less than 20 feet of water.
  4. I need somebody to take me walleye fishing on the Rock. Anybody? Anybody?
  5. Wow, Amish. You seem a little stessed. Remind me not to go fishing with you. By the way I watched Clint throw his fishing rod into the water today...never to be seen again.
  6. Caught some walleye on Stockton two weeks ago at about 40 feet deep.
  7. I am wanting to fish for walleye this weekend. Is the ramp in Clinton iced in?
  8. Finish in the money this year at the May Stockton MSW walleye tournament.
  9. Doop, Did you have any luck with the Muskies? As the water temperatures drop - they should start turning on!
  10. Bob, That is one of the nicest things I have ever seen. Thanks for the coordinates.
  11. I am going to fish this tournament for the first time. I have never fished a crappie tournament before so this ought to be a learning experience.
  12. I'm not sure they will affect the lake in a negative way. I think they will change the way you have to fish because of the clear water - especially on Pomme. I don't think it hurt the population of walleye on the Great Lakes and I bet if you asked the local angler they would say it helped the fishing. Please don't get mad and correct me if you think different.
  13. I have heard that the spawn is starting to slow down on Norfork and Bull Shoals. I would think there would still be some spawners that first week of April. I think that males will not be quick to leave the area. I like to use suspending rogues for these fish. Cast out and reel in a couple of times and let the lure sit. I let it sit until I cannot stand it anymore. It seems like they will always hit on the pause.
  14. That sounds like a plan. I have a mid April tournament I am getting ready for on Truman and then a mid May on Stockton and then I'll have time to do it. Lake will start heating up in June for the walleye. Thanks for the offer.
  15. Just off of the face of the dam during the spawn. Caught a nice fish last year that went about 8 lbs there. I have not fished much during the other seasons because I like heading South and all of our tournaments are on southern lakes. I imagine that Smithville is very good fishing, though. I have been known to take last minute trips to Longview - lots of walleye in there.
  16. I have a color Lowrance with gps in my boat. I love it. Especially when you are hunting for walleye (here today, gone tomorrow). Having said that I have caught alot of walleye that did not show up on the sonar. Also, these tools help only when you combine them with time on the water and experience.
  17. First of all, that Powerdive guy is full of misinformation. I would take anything he says with a grain of salt. He sure does throw a mean grape, though.
  18. I owned a 2002 Tracker Targa and the problems I had with it are too long to list here. I would not buy another one, nor would I recommend. It seemed like a good purchase at the time because it had a low $ entry point, but I had to fix things on it constantly. I have a friend that owns an Alumacraft and I think the quality is similar to a Lund, but at a lower price. Just my opinion.
  19. I own a dock up the river. You can definately catch catfish on the edges of the chanel. A friend of mine has pole lines all along the river. I think he mostly catches sunfish to bait them. If you are going up the river go slow until you figure out the chanel. By the way, there are alot of walleye in Pomme and summer is the best time to catch them. You might give it a try.
  20. Fished Bull Shoals last year for a June Tourney. My partner and I won big fish by catchin walleye 60 feet down over 180 feet of water. They definately suspend in Bull Shoals also.
  21. If you really want to catch Musky on Pomme then I would google Coaches Guide Service - Jim Wilson or Earl Hammond. They both are local experts on Pomme. I would highly recommend. If you are going by yourself then try Martin's Flat or Russell Cove Point. These are especially good with the wind blowing into them. I would fish shallow with inline bucktails or large shallow crank baits.
  22. I am looking for information about the Pomme above the 83 bridge. Can I run a Ranger 620 up to Sapp Landing if I go at a reasonable pace or am I just asking for trouble. I am trying to determine if I can fish this stretch in a timely manner for a upcoming walleye tournament in April. We will be putting in at Long Shoal Marina. If I go up the Osage, then that will be an awful long run. Any help would be appreciated.
  23. I used to fish Taney when I lived in Branson as a kid. I threw a red/white roostertail all of the time. The roostertail always seemed to catch more fish than a Panther or a Mepps, but I always had the same problem that you are having. I have a friend on Pomme that trolls with the Vibrac and loves them. You might give them a try.
  24. Hello, I am new to this forum and look forward to learning as much as I can from all of you. I own a Moving business in Kansas City, married, and have two daughters. I own a place up the Pomme River on Pomme De Terre and fish there quite often. I also tournament fish for walleye and I particularly like to troll leadcore. Please email me if you ever want to go out and fish I usually have a seat open. I like to fish LOZ, Truman, Stockton, all the Kansas Lakes, and Pomme.
