Ice fishing is always a blast! I'm going to school in the ozarks now but always make the trip home in northern Missouri when the ice is thick enough. I went back a week ago and caught some bluegill, bass, and crappie. Nothing real big but still fun. The ice was a little on the thin side but I think this past weekend would have been better..
I was wondering if anyone has been out lately? I'm going to be taking a friend down for his first time and he will be using an ultra light and I have always fished with a fly rod. I was curious what kind of jigs, jerkbaits, or other lures they usually bite on this time of year. We will be fishing around tan vat or below baptist camp.
Thanks!
Hey, i didnt get this until now but I did see you. I was the one standing on the rock up by the spring. We did alright early on some jigs I already had. It didnt seem like they were biting too good after first thing...
My family is coming down to visit this weekend and I will be taking them fishing at Meramec Springs tomorrow. I fly fish and have flies that I tie that I have pretty good luck with and catch plenty of fish, but my brothers and dad will be using spinning rods and I'm not sure what jigs or dough baits are working the best right now. I want to show them a good time and see them catch some fish. Any suggestions would help a lot, thanks!
