  1. Slow day today, but got this one to bite. 10 keepers in about 2 days of fishing. All I threw was a jerkbait.
  2. well, I'll have one tied on. Plan on throwing a rogue all weekend. Even with the muddy water, it will be nice to get out on the lake again. Beautiful weather this weekend I hear!
  3. NICE One! Care to share what you caught her on?
  4. I'll be there. Sunday looks like a good day, but Saturday looks nasty.
  5. Fished the BBB last weekend. Caught lots of fish, just couldn't get the big one. Most fish came on Carolina Rig Lizard. (have heard that a Rigged Croc o Gator Swamp Bug is what won it). Also caught fish on wiggle warts and square bill cranks. (Buzz bait or some propeller bait might be good to tie on too.) Secondary points and rock transitions is exactly what I fished. I fished from Hwy 5 bridge to Proctor Cove past 65 MM. The river seemed to produce less fish as the weekend went on. On Saturday only 5 of the 80+ money fish were weighed in at Red Fox.
  6. Fishing tournament there this weekend. Weekend before last a lot of fish were being caught on topwater especially early in the day. If there is cloud cover this weekend, I would definitely have a buzz bait tied on all day and handy. Chartruse and white or plain black. Another bait I would always have tied on this time of year is a carolina rigged lizard. If you don't know or don't like carolina rigging, just texas rig it. Good color for the lake are (Zoom lizard colors) If there is sun use Watermelon candy or cotton candy or watermelon with red fleck. If cloudy, I tend to use plum, june bug, or anything that is a darker color. I'd also have a crawfish colored crankbait tied on as well. (wiggle warts are good) Jigs are also catching fish according to outdoor report at lakesunleader.com I am not much of a jig guy, but black/blue and pumpkin colors tend to work really well. Good Luck.
  7. Finished well in 2 tournaments two of the the last three weeks. I fished from about the 55 mile marker to the Hurricane Deck bridge. Caught all of my fish on Smithwick Rogues and Megabass baits. Slow retrieve is key. 5-7 second pause after first three twitches/jerks.
