  1. We were down there on Wed. and Thursday. 7x a must. Should have caught many more fish than i did , but the bite was very light and my reflex timing a little slow. They pick it up a spit it out before I could even think. Dry flies worked good, if you cast them across the river to the shady spots on the opposite bank. I caught several on Glo balls, but after a few bites, the fuzz would start to part and expose the hook, then lots of looks, no bites. All in all, the weather is perfect right now and the fish are cooperating, if your reflexes are.
  2. Went down to the Ped. bridge enjoy the nice weather and fished from bridge. Using Double rigged 1/4 ounce white jigs bounced under fizzy areas produced several small stripers under 2lbs. Good fun, and really nice evening.
  3. Try Tenkiller State Park, the cabins there are nice and only a short drive down to the river.
  4. Let us know when the have other one. For someone who might own a small convience store or marina near water, you could make some money stocking up on combos. Christmas presents too!! Thanks Bassman92681 for the tip!! See you on the water!
  5. Went first thing this morning with my dad. Bought a 7/8 wt. Martin Large Arbor for $10.00, some nice ultra lights for $5.00, some Zebco/Fin nor spinning reels for $10.00 and an Offshore Rollerguide Boat rod For $25.00. Lots of people shaking rods all over the place, watch your eyes!
  6. I like the William Joseph vests and stuff!! About ten years ago I bought a 8wt. Browning Fly reel for $5.00, still use it as my lender.
  7. Hey Mikey, A little advice for you: Get up very early and get out there, the last month or so, the water has been slow. Get your flies all the way to the bottom. If you don't feel the bottom often, then you are not deep enough. Also, try some grasshopper like flys, a few guys did well the last couple of trips (under trees or near grass). 3rd: Forget about the trout and try for some striper. White grubs and shad looking lures should get some bites in the deeper places. Good Luck and Report back!!
  8. If you are going to pay $229.00 for a Combo, which the reel is a piece of junk, a the white river rods are just so,so,. Buy a Sage Launch!!! They are availble in every weight for around $225 for two piece and $245.00 for a four piece. White River is a cheap import rod, once you cast a Low grade Sage, you will think you are a pro. Don't buy into the hype at Bass Pro!!
  9. Looks like some water slapping to me, and some dry hand hook removal, got to watch out with video, the evidence is recorded.
  10. I would think with all the rain that they continue to run heavy around the clock. On sunday, we saw fish feeding and jumping out of the water but presenting a lure in those fast currents is something I need to work on. Any where there are eddys or backflows, there are fish, mostly deep, close to the bottom. I would guess that the striper love this water and wait in ambush areas for forage to wash by.
  11. Actually, I like it when they are running water. It tends to concentrate the fish into the eddys.
  12. Hey, just a heads up, not meant to be territorial at all. On Sunday, me and my buddy are taking some buddies fishing to the watts access. Started off just me and him, now the group is about 6-8. just wanted to drop a line in case someone was headed down, not to expect solitude. That being said if you see us at the 2006 Grey F150 in the afternoon, come introduce yourself and perhaps we'll have a extra cold one!
  13. Thanks John , for providing a detailed report, it's nice to hear conditions plus flies, instead of " we did really good yesterday, nice 20"
  14. Hey Dan, I'm glad you finally found em. Must have been a fun day. Nice fish!! What did you catch them on? Is that the lost creek area you were telling me about?
  15. Maybe try to tie some patterns with lots of shine since the PSO sign reflects off the water there at night?
  16. nice fish, moust be proud to see your daughters do so well at flyfishing!!
