I felt it in South City too. Seconds after the quake, I heard loud noises that sounded like gun shots. It turned out that they were gun shots and a police chase down my street. Awesome.
Jeff, I have to say that I'm more than a little bit jealous! If you caught good fish like that, I promise it's not a fluke - but you should go back just to make sure!
I'm selling my Recycled Waders Big Fanny waist/sling bag. $30 shipped in the lower 48 I've had it for almost a year but it looks hardly used (there is one subtle stain I tried to show in the bottom picture). It's a great medium sized bag that is mostly water proof (except for the zippers).
Dimensions are:
Main Compartment: 14"W x 9 "H x 4"D.
Internal Pocket: 7 "W x5 "H
External Pocket: 14"W x 9"H

Good points, JDM. It usually comes down to $$ for me. Although it's only a few bucks it matters. I believe the medical term for my condition is 'titewad'.
No you don't. I don't keep trout so I don't buy a trout permit and have clarified this with conservation agents. If all you're doing is C&R all you need is a MO license.
I'm looking to buy a float tube or pontoon in good, floating condition and preferably in the St. Louis area.
If you have one or know of one please pm or email me (czarbarclay @ prodigy . net)
I've found the same thing as well. The gills want to set up to spawn but the weather is really screwing with them. Should be an interesting season for sure.
If I were you, I'd go out to Busch to Lake 33 and rent a boat (only 5$). however with the weather we're scheduled to have this weekend it may be a bit dicey. You may do okay from the bank but it won't be quite as productive.
I was out there yesterday afternoon (lake 16 - C&R lake) fly fishing and noticed that a lot of male 'gills were shallow and getting quite aggressive. I think they are preparing to spawn at all the lakes.
My impression is that fluoro is denser that mono, that's why it sinks.
I use Feather-Craft's fluror and it's VERY high quality and reasonable priced ($10 for 50 yards) and consistant from spool to spool. If I am using dry flies I use Orvis Super Strong.
