There is some successful spawning for the walleye in Stockton but it does get stocked on a yearly basis. https://huntfish.mdc.mo.gov/sites/default/files/downloads/WalleyePlan.pdf

I would go with you anytime For me it would defintately be about the knowledge and techniques. I can go out and catch a few doing what I do and then catch a few more from the info you all give out, but actually going with someone, seeing and then actually learning how they fish is key. I have taken guided trips for stipers, hybrids and several salt water trips. Now I can go out and use what I learned to catch more and better fish.

We will be at the Ozark Mini Maker Fair at Bass Pro White River Conference center tomorrow, Saturday August 25 from 10-5 showing off these lures. Come by and check them out and say hi. It would be great to meet fellow Ozark Anglers Members. Just let me know who you are so i can put a face with your screen name.

My buddy that makes these inline spinners has been invited to have a booth at the Ozarks Mini Maker Faire. It will be at the White River Conference Center @ Bass Pro Shops in Springfield. Its Saturday August 25 and doors open @ 10:00 am. Come check out these baits and talk to him about how he makes them. He will have them for sale if you want to try them out. https://theozarks.makerfaire.com/ https://www.facebook.com/secondarypointbaits

I tried the gulp leeches several times and have never had a bite. I stick with night crawlers or real leeches if i can find them

read the articles posted by RPS, him and his articles both helped me a lot. To me its almost as much fun tying up the crawler harnesses as it is to catch a fish on one. Its a lot more satisfying to catch a nice walleye on a rig you thought up and tied up yourself.

we catch walleye every time we fish Greers. We have caught them trolling crankbaits, running bottom bouncers, using live minnows under the lights at night and on in line spinners and spoons. haven't caught any over probably 18 inches but we catch plenty. We are usually fishing for hybrids but always seem to pick up plenty of crappie and walleye. Bass are easily the fish we catch the least. We will get some kentuckies blow up on topwater every now and then, we don't target bass but we rarely catch an accidental bass like we do accidental walleye.

That is a beast of a hybrid. I told you they work!

We spent last thursday through monday chasing hybrids and man was it hot! Both the weather and the hybrid bite. Caught most from 5 pm to dark. Look for a cove with the wind blowing in and graph for shad. When you find shad you will find the hybrids and whites. we were throwing inline spinners in anywhere from 90 FOW to 30 FOW and letting them sink all the way to the bottom. If a fish doesn't hit it on the way down reel it in and hang on. Check out the for sale page on info about the inline spinners we used.

Just got back from our annual trip to Greers Ferry AR. The Hybrids were crushing these inline spinners. Check out the website and try these out. https://www.facebook.com/secondarypointbaits

From the recent reports it looks like about everything is biting. Has anyone found the hybrids yet? Gonna be down there next weekend. Hopefully the bite stays good and we catch a few.

I don't trout fish but we use 3/16 up to 1/2 oz for white bass and go all the way up to 1 oz for hybrids. We make our own and my buddy has decided to sell them. If you like to support local guys check out his sites and take a look at the inline spinners he hand makes. https://www.etsy.com/shop/SecondaryPointBaits?ref=search_shop_redirect https://www.facebook.com/secondarypointbaits

we started making these a few years back just for us and had a lot interest from people we would fish with. My buddy decided to start making them and selling them. If you like fishing with inline spinners checkout his site and give these a try. They work great, are completly locally and hand made and they flat out catch fish. We mainly use them for hybrids and whites but have caught everything from buffalo to crappie to bass. Sizes from 1/16 oz up to 1 oz and bigger. the pics speak for themselves. He is on facebook and ETSY. https://www.facebook.com/secondarypointbaits https://www.etsy.com/shop/SecondaryPointBaits?ref=search_shop_redirect

I recently recieved some of my dads and grandfathers old tackle and came across a few wiggle warts. I have about 20 of the pre rapalas now and was just curious as to what they might be worth to some of the people out there going nuts for them. I went through several websites and ended up on ebay where i found this! it is an active auction with 25 or more bidders. this is getting rediculous. https://www.ebay.com/itm/VERY-RARE-PRE-RAPALA-STORM-WIGGLE-WART-V44-BLUE-MACKEREL-NEW-IN-BOX-WITH-ID-WOW/272977677724?hash=item3f8ebccd9c:g:waQAAOSwUlxaLcqt I would love to say that i found one these babies, but everything i have has been used and not worth much, but a man can dream i guess.

Mine happened this past spring fishing on Norfork. I hooked what felt like a nice fish on a jerkbait after dark. It was pulling pretty good when all of the sudden it just flat took off and I couldn't turn it around. I was figuring I had a nice striper on the line. When i finally got it close enough to the boat to see it I had 2 nice hybrids about 5 lbs apiece. Only double I have ever had.

Fried buffalo ribs are very tasty. I agree with oneshot, they are very comparable to sucker
-
Thanks, I'm gonna give it try next time I catch a few.
-
You have said several times you keep a few for the smoker, I have never smoked anything beside salmon. If you're willing to share, how do you prep and smoke your walleye? It sounds mighty tasty.

I was fishing a tournament at Table Rock with my dad around 15 years ago when I caught my first memorable and still to this date biggest smallie. We had been throwing crankbaits all day and had a pretty decent limit in the boat and were looking for a big fish. Dad hung his crankbait up on one of the cedar stumps that were only a couple feet or so underwater. When he pulled the boat up to get it unhung I saw another stump with a nice fish sitting right under it. I grabbed my spinning rod which had a 6 inch finesse worm on a slider head tied on and dropped right down in front of the fish. Never saw the fish move but watched the worm just disappear. I set the hook and and the fight was on. I had 6 lb mono on that reel and was not sure I could get her out of the stump. With a bit of effort and a lot of luck I manged to get her out of the stump and out past the other stumps to clear water where I could play her out. Dad was finally able to net her and we had our kicker fish. On our way to weigh in my dad made me a deal. His exact words were "nice smallie, tell you what, if she makes 5 lbs I will have her mounted for you." I was young and new to tournament fishing and I was praying for that fish to be 5 lbs all the way to the ramp. We get back and went to weigh in, I am so amped up I couldn't stand still. They weigh my smallie for big bass and the scale read 4.98. I ended up winning big bass and we took 3rd overall. I should have been happy we placed and won big bass but I was heatbroken as I watched her swim away, I really wanted a wall hanger. To be honest, if I were to catch one worthy of mounting today i would have to have a replica made, they are so realistic and look so good, and the fish gets to live to be caught another day.

I don't know about the previous post but Championship Marine Repair in Spokane does great work. They just finished our boat, it was glass work on the hull, but i've seen their gel work on other boats. The guys there are awesome and friendly. Top notch work too.
