The trick to this stuff is a big bottle of soapy water..one or 2 drops is all you need .. and a good plastic flat edge that can push the bubbles down.. Clean the area off , spritz it with soap/water , tack the pc down with masking tape and slowly peel the transfer tape off as you sqeedge the air bubbles out .. any left over bubbles use a exacto-knife or needle to pop and then press them down .. once the soap/water has dried your set.

I fish multiple styles dependent mainly upon who I am fishing with.. for the most part a good spinerbait will take every fish in there , gar included.. I hear most people fish with crankbaits .. just a few thoughts on the subject.... #1 whats more suitable in a place with constant changes in depth, structure and cover a crank bait that is easily lost in the chunk rock or weeds? or a spinerbait that wont hang up even on some of the worst casts?... #2 crankbaits often take the same color and general profile as a spinerbait with out the ability to fish it as fast or slow as you want . on top of that you have to think that some spots could be 15 ft deep others could be 1ft.. how are you going to let it fall to that fish on the edge of the eddie? #3 spinerbaits are 1$ at wally world a good crankbait is 5$.. now before you get up in arms about fishing with a craw colored crank let me say these do work ..but in another sense there is so many different lures that could take its place and be much more effective. soft plastics for example a baby brushhog or crawdad imitation could be way more productive and less costly than say a small wiggle wart.. brushhogs come 20 to a pack +hooks + sinkers for every body in the bag and your still looking at less $ than 2 crankbaits.. same goes for spinerbaits .. 5 spinerbaits to one crankbait. I am not downing cranks at all .. they have their place. To be extremely successful though one has to take a step back from that favorite lure that took your 5lbser 3 yrs ago and fish with the lure that fits the situation . With that said ..something that sinks is weedless and follows the coloring of prey will be way more successful at a place like rivercut...

This is close to my problem . I have what they call OFD (obsessive fishing disorder) which causes me to keep 3 of my rods rigged with the same exact lure no matter what the conditions..this would be great for those of us that remember to retie or check on occasion for burrs in the line. But in my case it takes slinging a 3 hooked super spook 2 football fields away w/o the line attached to realize I have went 3 trips with the same lure and knot. I have yet to lose a good bass to this but I can see that it will happen to me eventually and when it does I pray the muscles relax so That I may see the light of day.

maybe one of those hydrofoil things could help in getting a level ride... I have one that is the stingray brand , really made a difference in the way that it almost stayed completely level all the way through the rev to top speed.. it did take 3 mph off the top speed according to my gps but that is almost not even noticable. not relation to the company or site just a link with a picture....stingray hydrofoil

or to save you 400$......... 10 and 2 o'clock ..wrist action dictates the size of loop . and a scud bug...roaring river is like fishing a pickle barrel , bennet springs gets really crowded.. and taneycomo is the fickle mother of both. If you feel like taking a extra person I would be more than happy to show you my favorite haunts and lures of choice.

the bite is light , the wind is heavy and the sun is a cooker.perfect... thats what I was grumbling as we put in 2hrs late today , with the wifey in tow armed with the camera I was determined to show some proof of these great bass I have been catching for the past few weeks . It turns out I was in luck the dinks were in hiding and the monsters were out to play.. obviously these are no trophy bass but what more can you expect from a 800 acre lake that is notorious for skunking most. these bass are still very shallow and very timid.. soft plastics are still producing very well , motor- oil worms , spinerbaits , and some topwater..if numbers is the game stay with the plastic worm or crawdad. If your looking for size stick with a spook.. same as last report for the most part [attachmen t=6560:Summer_09_009.jpg] [attachmen t=6566:Summer_09_016.jpg] that last one there is 5lbs others never dipped below 2-3lbs..... talked to everyone I seen ,no one else had the gumption to drive strait onto the weed beds ,they also didnt have a 17lbs bag in 3 hrs ,most had caught little to nothing and were not receptive to the fact that these fish were REALLY really shallow ...get in the weeds , there is almost nothing that can hurt your prop on those flats and its the only way I have found recently to put numbers and size in your boat. good luck , btw I noticed alot more people on south side of the lake ya'll starting to believe me ?... lol .. I dont mind just make room for me

Jug Lines In Fellows?
Ämp replied to SWMOkirtley's topic in Fellows Lake, Springfield Lake, McDaniels Lake
pretty sure its just a pole and line lake like springfield lake. -
That lady cooks us sandwiches each day and talks to us for the time that we stand there to eat and take a small break from the sun. she has always been more than helpful and on occasion tells us where she last heard of the best fishing. You have to grease the wheel before it will turn though, bring a big fish pic to her or comment on her earrings or just throw some money in that donation box for the humane society . A canoe would be a great idea out there its 5$/hr to rent one and is probably the best thing to fish with right now considering the depth of feeding fish..I dont know how it would be against the wind but there is good fishing strait out of the marina to the east if you dont want to paddle for a hour to get to the southside. Take 2 rods incase you catch a muskie , you can just leave him on for a trolling motor , works great as a fish finder too!

I tend to sight fish them if one strikes the top I will throw my spook at it and have had luck doing so ..otherwise I am just bass fishing.

Bass are still holding really shallow in the weeds or just off the main channel and seem to retain the position all day..some are still on the spawn to the southwest ..southeast is done for the most part .. soft plastics are doing well with numbers but spook seems to bring the bigger fish if you have the nerve to wait while your buddy slings em in the boat one after another .. motor oil worm , green/red flash crawdad, small brush hogs all have had huge success with fish all day .. took some white bass on topwater ..

James River Flow And Temperature Questions
Ämp replied to msr's topic in Fellows Lake, Springfield Lake, McDaniels Lake
everything he says is true... Btw has anyone rented a canoe from the new place in the park?..I went with my dad in his canoe today and seen some guys that said it only cost 5$ to rent one can this be confirmed ? sounds like a good deal to me .almost worth leaving mine at home and just using theirs -

I own a nice boat but sometimes I just don't have the energy to get everything around to go on a short fishing trip ...here are some ideas for those of you that just like to get out of the house and fish a lil with out the check list that it takes for boating. River cut golf facility and subdivision ..this place has some of the best fishing on the james ,weeds beds every turn, good currents with cut-outs on either side and alot of shelf rock . I have fished there for years and never gotten kicked out ...now im not saying go cutting across the greens looking for a spot to fish but I am saying that you can discretely fish the river on the bend from the pro shop all the way around and out of the parking area with out the wrath of golf balls hailing down upon you , the grounds keepers will on occasion stop by to ask what you have caught em on but otherwise have nothing to say . here is one right on that big bend coming in the gates .. another good place is ozark's park and booster club arena..with handicap access and a nice view of the old mill you can take your time catching monster Sm .. if you step to the other side of the mill you will find fast moving water with lots of structure to fish .. Linden lure one your way to rogersville past hilandsprings is also a great place. good fish can be taken anywhere that there isnt a huge crowd .. this place packs it in on the weekends but is virtually abandoned otherwise... try the mill and everything below for more huge Sm.. take james river expwy. to 125 south til you see the bridge.. you want to take the ugly lil road on your right hand side before the bridge but if its your first time there just turn around after you see the river and look for it on your way back

feel as though i need to add that the muskie that hit my lures usually are chasing it for a while..they hit from behind..and they run at you making it feel as though the lure isnt even on anymore...just a hint ; next time you feel this sensation reel as though your life was depending on it and give it such a jerk that your feet come off the boat when you feel him on. if you have ever gotten into a slew of gar its the same idea.. bone and tooth is all they have in the front ..sometimes you have to drill a pilot hole to get that hook to set. I Lost the biggest bass i have seen out of there on topwater to this very thing today .. hit from behind and ran full force at me busted water and spit the spook right into my hands ...other than that it was a unbelievable day of fishing for fellows I would think all weeks overcast/ warming trend will provide just what they need to get active.. lol watch out for the carp spawn I kept chasing gaint splashes in the brush thinking it was a monster muskie turns out there is more grass carp than a phish concert in there having all sorts of fun...

this will be hard to explain but I will try, if you go to the furthest cove back or the tip of the southern leg of the lake then count back west from there...1. the tip of the leg .2. the next inlet to it that is close to the same .3. the long cut-out next to these two spurs leading into a point and then .4. the long shallows and hump that make up the rest of the bank to the next very large cove. 1.is the best for whites following the channel all the way out .. 2 is a good muskie spot but you have to sneak on them these fish are easily spooked (due to the water being so clear imo)... 3. holds alot of walleye and whites and then we come to 4.. the bass are shallow and up in these weeds. there is a primary tree line 20 yrds from the visible weeds on this bank as well as a small channel then large hump leading into main channel , said hump is where i get most of the muskie strikes and allot of good bass and some walleye. I know this sounds crazy but everything from topwater to a lil green jig will take all of these fish in all of these places. today the 15th i fished all day with a zara spook and tore them up . all of them. I know this will also sound crazy but aside from fishing the visible structure on #4 as you take this bank take time to turn your back to the bank and fish the open water over this massive hump that lies just 30-40 yards off the front line of visible weeds .I know fishing off shore ,way from the bulk of structure is a strange concept but bass hang in this channel and will come off the grass that resides in the bottom of this channel to hit just about anything right now. this water that i speak of goes from 8 ft at the visible structure to around 14-16ft back to 10 ft for the hump and then main channel. next time you go try it .no jokes or games turn your back to the bank and cast across that hump with a spook and watch the fire works.. the same goes for the west tip of 2 and all of 3.. there is tons of structure that you dont see and tons of fish sitting on it. but 3 leading into 4 is my honey hole. obviously there are bass in the visible weeds but the fat females are just cruising that channel the long skinny fellers are up in those weeds feeding all day spooks , soft plastics (worm or crawdad) ,spinerbait..all do well for the most part crank bait seems to detour bass but has some pull w/ the walleye.. hope this quick attempt to explain was helpful , remember dark colors for lowlight, chrome/ prismatic for sunny days..when all else fails pull the motor up and paddle back into those weeds and pick it apart.. ps. make room for me

caught this one right next to river cut today rain had just set in as we took our last casts didnt get a chance to weight it.

first one of size that I have ever caught , just bass fishing in 14 ft of water while standing w/ one foot on the trolling motor .. I think he was headed the opposite direction of me b/c he just about took me for a swim , he hit like a truck made 3 good runs , every time i got him to the boat he would bolt for a good 30 yards and then bust water once even making a full flip out of water before touching down for a landing...awesome experience scales said 22lbs but they are old and very questionable more like 15-18 if i was to guess. Fellows lake 9am the 11th.

Bass fishing was slow, we caught two nice fish in the morning on slow topwater . Walleye were hitting crank baits and spiners had a few keepers , try the inlets of coves or long flats 12-16 ft of water. btw took a good muskie on a spinerbait while bass fishing 14 ft of water running really slow. I have caught one nearly every trip now while bass fishing but nothing of mention til now , I will try some of the gear I have (nothing like a real muskie fisherman) next time I go and see if i cant get one of these monsters to strike . the one I caught hit the scales for 22lbs . we are in the process of trying to get the cord for my phone that lets me take the pictures off of it. I will post it as soon as I do. few people I talk to that muskie fish out there are friendly , one guy even told me to not do it idk why , in a attempt to better his chances or try to save me money is my guess either way it would be great if anyone had a few tips for me. I have never tried to fish for them but seem to always get em around my bass fishing spots . Other than that fishing was slow, look for it to pick back up when the weather gets a little more stable .. conditions were sunny in the morning after the storm front that moved out around 80F and partly cloudy from 11am throughout the rest of the day..water was still really really clear......good luck
