Fished Stockton Saturday. Water temp was 54 when we started out around 7:30 and at noon only reached 55 degrees. However Sunday at Pomme de Terre water temperature was 10 degrees warmer. Why is there such a temperature difference between two lakes not that far apart. Is it the depth of Stockton, the wind, both or some other reason?

So glad to see a bait shop on this side of the lake. Buying minnows is getting tougher. I used to stop there and get a pretty darn good hot dog from some fellow with a hot dog cart out front. He eventually moved into the building then was gone. Wonder what happened to him.

Trying to get some feedback on the water conditions around Maze Creek to State Park Marina.

Planning a trip this weekend. Usually put in at Bolivar Landing but was wondering what the conditions were like there. May change my mind if already bad and more rain to come. Thanks

Fished about a month ago near State Park Marina. Caught lots of crappie but only 1 keeper to 10-15 shorts. Lots of fish in the 9 inch range so may be a good harvest next year.

Anyone know the condition of Bolivar Landing? Just wondering if there was much debris from all the rain. Muddy?

Thanks for the report. You know us crappie fishermen, always want to know the latest of what's working and not working. With a tournament a recap of what all the participants were saying about the day is beneficial. Thanks again.

As a crappie fisherman I always check the results of your tournament. I think it would be nice if next year you could post some comments like where the fish were being caught. Not specific sites but depth and maybe what type of baits were working.

Amazing how patterns change so quickly. It will be interesting to see what happens after the storms that passed through the area.

Put in at Bolivar Landing 9:30 Saturday. Fished the bank till 2 with only 3 crappie in the boat. Was totally dumbfounded. Water temp was 63 at launch at 68 when we left at 6. If it ain't working do something different so we went into a cove and fished timber in around 13-15 fow. Apparently they were staging ready to spawn. Combined we left with 20 crappie with several nice slabs. All but a couple were females full of eggs. All in all a great day to be on the water.

I'm trying to get familiar with fishing Stockton Lake for crappie. Like to fish Pomme de Terre out of Bolivar Landing and Table Rock near Bridgeport/Flat Creek. I'm having trouble finding success at Stockton Lake. Put in at State Park on Saturday. Fished Maze Creek heavily with not one bite. Fished along the bank as well as timber. Used various jigs and color combos. Any input would be great. I know Stockton is a great crappie lake. Is Maze Creek not a good area for crappie? Looked like great water.

First of all my condolences to the family of our lost fellow fisherman. Just wondering the water conditions were around the Bolivar ramp. Trying to decide if it's worth the trip to launch there Saturday.

Hey everybody. All these years when the fishing is or turns sour, I hear "they quit biting when the front moved in." I catch myself saying that but what actually happens when a front comes in and the fish do quit biting?

So am I to understand that you may use more than 3 rods while spider rigging as long as they are all labeled?

Put in at Bass Pro Shops Marina around 8:30 on Long Creek. After waiting 20 minutes for two guys who didn't have the courtesy or common sense to have all their gear loaded before backing into the launch ramp, got on the water around 8:45. This was our first trip to Long Creek. Normally fish Cape Fair or Stockton Lake. Didn't have any luck finding crappie until 3:30 when my buddy caught our first for the day, a whopping 14+ inch slab. Then I caught a 13 incher and he followed with a 12 incher. This all happened within 30 minutes of each other then it was time to go.
