Thanks everyone for the info. Plan to drive down tomorrow and get an idea of which ramp would be the best to put in at. Looking forward to fishing Long Creek for the first time Sunday!
We're planning on fishing the Long Creek area this Sunday for the first time in preparation for a family outing/get together the first weekend in April. What's the name of the marina off Hwy 86 south of the bridge. Is this the only ramp other than Cricket Creek? How about the ramp at Old Hwy 86.
Any thoughts or input on the Long Creek area is greatly appreciated. We will be crappie fishing. We usually fish Cape Fair and Stockton Lake. Thanks.
Anyone know if they offer classes on how to take advantage of all the features on a fishfinder. Mine has so many but it seems I only use it to check the depth, temperature and structure. I would like to become much more knowledgeable in using mine.
Put in at the Bolivar Access around 6 am. Fishing was slow till around 10. Picked up one here and one there. Then we found two different locations where we pulled out over 30 crappie in each location. Many were shorts but it was fun. Fishing with jigs and color didn't seem to matter. Around noon it seemed to slow down again. Took home my limit so it was a good day.
I'm planning a trip to Stockton Lake tomorrow and was wondering if the bridges on Hwy 215 were open. I remember reading that they were working on the one lane brdiges and you had to detour around them.
Does anyone know of any places in north Springfield that sell minnows and that are open very early in the morning? Someone said there were two places on Glenstone north of I-44. Any info would be helpful as it seems finding live bait is getting more difficult.
Has anyone had any success crappie fishing on Springfield Lake? I took my bantam boat out a couple weeks ago and couldn't get a bite. I fished along the south bank of the lake by the railroad tracks then went over to the north bank just off the dam.
I've mainly fished for crappie at Pomme de Terre but I'm trying to get aquainted with Stockton Lake. Without giving up any secret hot spots, can anyone direct me to some general areas where I may do some quality crappie fishing? I usually put in at State Park Marina or at Cedar Ridge. Thanks.
