Biggest Trout Of My Life
Tito Degiosio replied to Justin Spencer's topic in North Fork of the White River
Cool story on your blog Justin Congrats On the Huge fish My goal has always been a two foot brown maybe someday It will happen Next Time I'M There I'm gonna Give Big Streamers A Better try in Hope of catching big fish Not so Much numbers just one Big fish would be Fine hahah -
Why I beleive the only way to Fly Fish Big Water is with A Drift Boat Because you catch fish you couldn't have wading Everyone who joined me On the NFOW And Eleven point over the three day period we Need to do it again soon This is Only a few of what was landed those days on the NFOW there's more on Video including the mishaps of recording while trying to help land a 20 inch brown Kevin,Jeremy,Justin,And Creepy I had a Blast fishing with you guys we will do it again soon

yep you never know what ridge The Ghost will be on

Well maybe this will be a answer to your question on the blue ribbion section and how it's fishing let me tell you this straight foward if you want to catch numbers and stockers go down stream below turners but if big wild stream bred fish is what your after and not numbers greer to turner is the place to be on Mon the 19th a 18 incher was brought to the net and on the 20th a 17 incher and a 21 incher was brought to the net All WILD all in all we fished for only about 5 hours over the two days we were turkey hunting and brought our rods along to fish near camp didn't fish hard at all I camped below hurricane creek on the right you have a huge run to fish from the bottom of the run to the run above hurricane creek great spot to camp
-
yea 21 incher at mary decker and a 18 and 17 as well full fishing and hunting story later after season \ Tito
-
Just reminding the ones who aren't aware opening day of turkey season starts mon the 19th Hunters will be using the river to persue gobblers which means shotguns will be shooting and most likely near the river gobblers tend to make their way to the bottoms once off the roost so hunters will be nearby chances are boats will be up and down the river more then normal for the week so planning a trip in the week won't save you from seeing less people during season unlike deers season where evryone is wearing orange . hunters are in camo and just because you don't see them doesn't mean they are not there if you see a stopped boat and no one around please be quiet and hurry past A hunter may be set up within viewing distance of the river and you could scare that gobbler he may have coming in to him/her so please be kind and share the river I'll be one of them in a boat and am planning on camping for several days near little hurricane creek everyone have fun and be safe this turkey season Tito

Taurus .357 Mag 4" Barrel..sold
Tito Degiosio replied to Larry Richards's topic in Buy - Sell - Trade
Thanks Larry looking forward to fishing with you someday -
Folks this is a Fishing forum it happens why you making a big deal if you have a problem with the way someone handles a fish or hooks one keep it to yourself most everyone on here is plenty aware of the proper way to handle a fish no need to make a big deal about it everyone on here has mishandled a fish before it's gonna happen and I'm sure it doesn't happen everytime someone catches one. but if you go back and look there is to much of this going on at different forums ozarkanglers was started to assist new comers to the waters and share stories with each other not to complain and start a debate on how someone catches / handles a fish or by what they use to catch them in a legal stand point of course it should be more about just getting outside and injoying life and nature and as far as crane creek is concerned you asked people to spend money in crane to help the stream out well if they have read it on here then they are gonna fish crane and spend money there so what do you want no money spent in crane and the stream ruined or people to visit crane and save the little gem really tired of seeing all this debating going on it's has been getting out of hand for too long now it needs to stop !!! NOW if you can't be friendly Don't say anything !! Tito

between cane bluff and becky hollow all in there on the north side of the river we also thought we spotted some on the greer spring trail over winter but blown it off being we had never seen any around here before and that there was very little chance but now theres a chance that it was hogs
-
well folks many have asked and untill now we always said there wasn't any hogs that we have heard of on the eleven point well thats all change and fast was out between cane bluff and greer almost the half way point and man was there hog sign everywhere for almost 40 acres lots of rooting around big tracks I mean Huge tracks and tons of them talk to some locals on the upper side and they said they been trying to kill them for awhile and that the conservation went in a killed 30 but theres alot more that needs to be killed they have been baiting them in hopes of keeping them to one area but due to pressure they have been on the move they are gonna stay near water which means if you want to bring your gun on the eleven point theres a reason to just remember you have to be out of your boat and on dry ground and not shooting towards the river to be legal about it or shoot across the river, follow the laws to avoid a ticket other then that they said kill any hog you see also for those who don't already know between now and turkey season nothing is in season or allowed to be hunted just trying to help you avoid a ticket Alright folks Now you know there is Hogs on the eleven Point River Now

First Off giving the dog a shed to play with as he feels is good as a pup. gets him used to the feel of them in his mouth. but you need to make him find them in order to play with them and don't let them chew on it. start by having someone hold the dog unless he already stays, you need to have a word to trigger the search. something simple and that doesn't sound like anything else the dog would know. I used the word READY that would make her look at me then I would say GETTHEBONE as fast as I good, do not ever change it up once started using it ,ok Now make sure he can see you go off and hide it. start with dragging and puting them in plain sight. then start making it a little harder to find make him use his nose. but be careful your scent is not on them get a pair of cheap gloves and use them to touch the bones you want him to find. other wise he will just learn to find your scent. do not wash the gloves and only use them to handle the sheds once he becomes good at finding them in and around the home do the same thing out in the brush if you already have a few sheds bring them and hide them your self. don't let the dog see you hiding them then start making your rounds though the area you hid them. reward everytime he finds one and after each find start over with the search word but don't repeat it to many times while the dog is hunting for them you may confuse the dog . you always want to make training fun for the dog give treats and mix it up don't give a treat everytime switch between rubing and pating. you don't want your dog to become treat hungry other wise it will just concentrate on what your hand is doing and not hunt, never train for over a hour short training periods are more effective then long ones remember to keep the training fun. your dog feels you if your mad he's confused but if your happy and excited he did something right show it let him know and your dog will begine to show the excitment you do in finding sheds. stick with it and he or she will become a great shed dog any other questions on how to get them back from the dog. if you having trouble with that I can help you for most of my childhood I was around dog training and assited with lots of them some went on the win blue ribbions I never did it to compete just for personal use and to have a good working dog one other thing if your gonna be in a big area such as a thousand acres get a tracking collar I wish I did I lost my lab in jan. never found her don't have a clue what happend to her eithier will be in the market for other dog after august to train grinding a shed up into chips and putting in a sock is a easyier way to keep your dogs nose on the smell of sheds remeber don't let your dog begain to chew on them or your never get them back once the find the bone morrow inside Also don't let the dog see you throw sheds in the brush other wise he will want you to do so all the time instead of finding them and bringing them back once you have the first shed in your hand the dog would think you are gonna throw it and not leave your side so be sure not to do that learned it by doing it the wrong way with my dog also mix it up have other people hide the sheds for you while you hold the dog that will get him concentrated on just the scent of the shed and not his master the very first dog I trained would find me anywhewre. but that was my mistake I touched the bone with my hands and also hid everbone myself the dog knew my scent and that was it I once had someone hold the dog while I went and hid on a hay pile the dog found me in seconds and started to climb the hay stack so just remmeber to be aware of what your scent does whe training a dog hope I helped you any question feel free to ask

transiton to a fly rod just takes time and thats all I got
-
Nice report thanks for it No one ever reports on spinning tackle anymore for this river so no one has anything to go off of even though I do fly fish it's good see someone post in detail on what they used and what worked for bait casting again good Post come back soon fishing will be picking up as the heat rises Tito Degiosio (The Ghost Angler)

don't know much about lures other then deep diving crawdads work well as well as rooster tails in orange, white, black all will work cast to the bank and reel you can always set up any spinning rod like a nymphing rig place a egg pattern or other fly under a indicator about 6 feet to 8 adjust as needed of course use split shot don't be afraid to use a heavy one you need to get to the bottom and do it fast cast up in into the current and let sink and float by haven't used a spin reel in so long Don't know if I could even operate one now haha but before got into fly fishing I used to catch trout on bait casters using a egg pattern ,splitshot and indicator fished deep I caught lots of trout that way it should it should work for ya I'm sure there's another method for using a casting rod and lures but if all elese fails try it you may be suprised Hope this helps (The Ghost Angler)

made it to patrick around 7:00 starter fishing the run around the bridge till our shuttle arrived at around 9. we both picked up a few browns each there as we started are way down stream we were still catching some browns here and there but nothing of size was landed at that point just some small 14 inch or less sized fish. I was fishing stones, princes, midges, and woolys and doing a little striping as well all hooked into fish my friend stuck with the egg and wooly dropper maybe I should have to he caught the biggest fish of the day a nice 17 inch brown as we came to close on our trip Brian Wise and Matt tucker were coming down stream it almost looked like a picture from out west The NFOW being so wide like some western streams and plus the combanation of drift boats was a wonderful sight they did kelly to PP bridge and we did Patrick to PP bridge and made it there at the same time funny how that worked out after we pulled the boat out we drove over to the camp ground and hiked to the islands and manage to pick up another two fish there before the sun went down on us over all a great day for being out lots of hatches and lots of rises was a wonderful sight indeed (The Ghost Angler) Tito
