  1. ps... cofobasser really doesn't know what he's talking about so I would just disregard that information...
  2. I have a brand new ProGuide 27M200 Deep Cycle Battery for sale that I won through Central-ProAm. I just picked it up through Battery Outfitters about 2 weeks ago and it has been sitting in my closet every since. Bought a new battery last fall and literally don't have any use for this one. At Fin & Feather where it was delivered to this battery retails for $129.99. I am asking $85 for mine. If interested please comment back or my cell is 417-818-4791. Thanks!
  3. Welp, can only tell you one thing... They won't be normal...Prolly snow...
  4. correction: "obviously they're cheaper when bought in the combo"
  5. I would definitely go with the 6'6 Medium Heavy. I'm in college and of course the funds are running low, so I wanted a rod that would serve the best all around for what I like to do. And so far the 6'6 medium heavy is what I use for most everything. Any plastic I throw is with a 6'6 MH, as well as a spinnerbait, which is quite often as well. My favorite fishing is definitely worm fishing and the Medium Heavy is ideal. I do a lot of 10" worm fishing at Stockton in the summer and its the way to go. As far as the brand I already weighed in my 2 cents. I'm sure the BPS extreme and BPS Pro Qualifier Combos both run hand in hand. In an ideal world, I would put the pro qualifier reel on the extreme rod, but thats not gonna happen. Obviously they're cheaper when bought separate. I have 2 BPS pro qualifier combos, as well as 2 BPS extreme rods. I have never used the actual extreme reel so I can't say much about it. I'm partial to the Pro Qualifiers just cuz that's what I use, and don't have anything bad to say about them, plus I always thought they looked better!
  6. ps, they have the Dual Breaking Magnetic system on them, starting out if you click that baby up to 10 there's no way you can backlash, and then just work your way lower as u get the hang of it. And the cost right now is around $180 i think? But if you wait till the BPS Spring fishing classic they take 60-70 off it every year.
  7. I will tell you exactly what you need to get! For my 15th birthday, my dad got me my first baitcasting rod and reel combo, it was the BPS Pro Qualifier combo. I am now almost 22 years old and I STILL fish with that exact same rod and reel combo that I had 7 years ago, and it still works flawlessly. And honestly, for the first time since I got it 7 years ago I decided to oil the thing over the winter, not because I really had to but I just figured I would, on top of that I leave it in the garage year round (prolly not a good thing assuming in the winter time the water in it could freeze and expand? my guess). Point is, I have mistreated this rod and reel over the years and not once have I had any problem or complaint about it. I can honestly say I enjoy throwing this combo still more than my other rod and reel combos, it casts WAY further than any of my other combos and I literally have to try to backlash it (maybe cuz its just so worn in!! Maybe I just got a good year on em I dont know? But this past Spring I picked up another BPS Pro Qualifier rod/reel combo during the spring fishing classic for about $110. The reels now have a smaller profile than the one I got when I was 15, and sure look a lot better!! The new one I got is my official flipping/pitching or worm rod, and I am starting to love it just as much as the one that is 7 years old, that I've treated horribly, yet it still loves me and works incredible!! I can't see you having any complaints. Ben
  8. Just another reason not to go swimming around in the everglades...as if the gators weren't enough...
  9. Fished Bull Shoals Saturday until 11:30 outta K Dock. The bass were hittin on the jerkbait. Between us caught about 25. I was doing the whole "try to pause the jerkbait as long as you can" method, while my buddy was giving it only 2-3 second pauses. He prolly out caught em 2 to 1 on me. About 6 keepers, but 4 of them were kentucks which isn't saying much since they only gotta be 12". My buddy did have a 4# 10oz largemouth and also a 3 lber. Legit we weighed the 4,10 on the scale. Not a bad morning working the stick. ps- All fish released alive and healthy to be caught again! On another note, some other friends were out at the same time caught 5 or 6 walleye on the stick in some coves. Good saturday. Unfortunately for us, we decided to try our luck at Table Rock on Sunday and only had 1 fish. Shoulda went back to Bull Shoals!!
  10. Hey guys, been reading and trying to gather as much info as possible. Planning on going to the rock this weekend and fishing hopefully both days. If it's windy at all I'll be throwing jerbaits, if not prolly try to dropshot or spoon or grub around some cedars. Thing is, I fish out of a 14 foot flatbottom with a 9.9 on the back. I've gotten real good at controlling it and bass fishing outta it over the past two years, but unfortunately I am very limited in the area of the lake that I fish considering such a small horsepower, unless I want an hour boatride just to go anywhere with distance. So, being restricted to a couple miles of the ramp I put in, where would u guys recommend I put in at that has some pretty productive areas around it this time of year. I read about the water thats supposed to come in from Beaver? Does this make the White the place to be? Any info would be extremely helpful!!! Thanks ps.. Thanks to every regular on this forum! As a college student up at Rolla not being around any lakes, all of the information you guys provide is such a blessing everytime I decide to make the 2 hour drive to go fishing, which has been quite often!
  11. Well then are you saying that just about every record fish should be deleted from the books? Take a look at the post by Sam earlier, he made a good point. If you are complaining about fish being caught in non native waters, then technically every fish caught in a reservoir should be scratched out. A reservoir is what? Man made. Man created them, thus altering nature's normal growth patterns for bass. And I am sure if you will look, there are non native shad that now habitat these reservoir's water that the bass now feed on. I guess we altered them again. So from your point of view most every bass that inhabits a reservoir is technically a "hybrid". All these fishing tournaments on Table Rock, Lake of the Ozarks, there are bass being weighed in that I guess "shouldn't count", and all the big tournaments should be on the original rivers of the nation? Sounds kind of silly to me.
  12. Why shouldn't it count as a world record? Last time I looked I think Japan was part of the world... That's like saying the United States or England should automatically win the gold medal for Baseball or Softball in the Olympics because that's where it technically originated. Or we could have the "Guinness Book of 'Country Specific Originated' Records."
  13. Yeah ya know he is an alright fisherman, I'm not sure if I can totally trust his advice thou?... It seems last time we fished LOZ together I seemed to smoke him... Just kidding, u know you're the first one I talk to everytime before I hit the lake. I already have a bunch of clown rogues, and thats mostly what you had in the pointers. Wanted to get some other color schemes... Either way these are just back ups in case my first plan doesn't work out. We both know what I'll be throwing to start the days out with...Ol reliable...
  14. I'm going to Lake of the Ozarks for a week over Spring Break this upcoming March. Plan on throwing a jerkbait most of the time. I have a pretty good arsenal of Smithwick Rogues, but wanted to break down and buy a couple LC Pointers. For LOZ this time of the year, which couple color schemes would be the best bets to pick up? Any info is greatly appreciated! Thanks!!
  15. Hey all, I really appreciate the tips! Both here and in the past too! Your information has been extremely helpful at all stages in my fishing!!
  16. I have a pretty good selection of Rogues but was looking to buy a couple of the Mcsticks. Being a cheap college guy prolly only buy 1 or 2. With the limited selection of color patterns on the McSticks which two would you guys recommend the most? I'll be fishing Lake of the Ozarks a bunch over my spring break in March. Thanks!!
  17. Do you still have the BPS 7ft Cranking stick? I'd be interested in that. Also do you know what year your model is? Thanks!!
  18. 6.5# on Firetiger Super Rogue in LOZ. Rocky secondary pt in mid march.
  19. Lets just get down to the real reason here... You catch a record fish... Let it go... A couple months later another guy catches your same exact fish and it weighs a couple 1/10ths of a pound more, maybe just because it's stomach is now full... He steals your record... One way to prevent that from happening... Keep the fish in the first place... ...By the way, that was a joke, although a bad one. But honestly it does make sense...
  20. Fished around the Twin Bridges area Sunday morning...through all the crumby weather and everything. The fish didn't seem to mind it. Threw a spinnerbait, white and chartreuse combinations around points, and cuts and small coves with brush on them. Caught tons of bass, mostly short fish. One really nice one that was nice enough to throw my bait before it got in the boat...whats new?!! Anyway all in all a good fun time.
  21. Hey thanks for the info guys! Appreciate it! I dont know what it is but I just can't get her to catch fish... She was absolutely ecstatic about catching a 14 and a half inch kentucky this summer at Table Rock as the biggest fish she's caught in her life. I just dream of the day she catches just a 3 lb bass...She'll probably beg me to get it mounted for her!
  22. Going fishing this Sunday. I'm taking the lady out and debating on whether to go to The Rock, or Stockton. Stockton's closer to where I live so I'm leaning towards that. Anyway, when she comes she's very happy with short fish, so I'm just hoping on getting bit, size doesn't matter. Any suggestions on where to go? And which ramp has the best bass fishing around it? I've only got a 9.9 hp so I'm limited to only a couple miles from the launch. Ya gotta start somewhere ya know? Thanks guys for any input!
  23. NuB2TR...That was hilarious! I don't know, that must've just hit me right...Here I am reading this post and conversation very diligently and serious and all of a sudden I read what u threw in. I burst out laughing and spit my soda all over my lap in order to keep it off my computer...But I agree, most definitely the brother in law...
  24. "last Saturday" my bad.
  25. "I'm not sure he actually kept them. "Kept" may have been slang for fish big enough to be keepers, but released. At least I hope so." Yeah, you got it right, Slang for keepers. I wouldn't keep any Smallies, not even from rivers. They don't reproduce as well as other bass and if people were to go around keeping them then days like last Sunday wouldn't be possible. Only 3 "keepers" is what I shoulda said, so dont worry, they're all still swimming around out there. Another thing I'll add is the schools of small largemouth fry I saw swimming around in the shallows in the back of the main lake cuts. Must have seen a school of em in 3 different locations. This made me happy knowing that we'll have plentiful fishing to come!
