  1. Thanks for a good report, wish I could get down there. I'm a bit obsessed right now with deer I'm not seeing.
  2. Yesterday was pretty tough fishing for 'eyes. We caught a couple keepers and a few shorts. Missed a few light bites also. Guy I was with caught the biggest one he'd ever caught, so it was a good day for him. Most were fairly shallow.
  3. Sweet. Heading down Thursday for some 'eyes
  4. I'm getting the cranks because I haven't been to Stockton for a long time....
  5. I found this week a little tougher than last week. We finally found them on the flats, last week they were shallow on the points. While there was water chop on the flats, we'd catch fish. When it calmed down, they were gone. The sun was really beating down.
  6. Hate to brag (yeah, right), but this was the easiest season I've ever had. Got both of them Monday mornings, in the same spot, both were 21.5 pounds. Think they were related?
  7. carp. get your bow.
  8. Something was going on Friday night, saw several boats with very bright lights cruising along the banks after dark.
  9. One of my favorite things to do on Stockton is kayaking (the sit on top kind, NOT the sit inside kind) when the water is full of white caps. I like to start on the upwind side, usually Cedar Ridge in the summer, and let the wind take me across the lake, usually to Masters. (the wife picks me up) It's not for the faint of heart and a life jacket, of course is a must. One must be proficient at getting back on the kayak, you will get dumped. I wouldn't do it with anything I couldn't lose (fishing pole). Going into the wind is a challenge, but it can be done. Nothing like 3 foot swells breaking over the kayak.
  10. This isn't a Stockton report, but I've got to share. Fished with my aunt and uncle in central Ks over the weekend. On Saturday, we got on the water at 10am and caught 58 walleye during the day. They were all in 3 to 5 feet of water. The wind was blowing like it usually does in Kansas, but we were able to buck it with a big (bigger than what I've got) boat. Most were 16 to 17 15/16". We had an 18" length limit and were able to keep 11 with the longest being 21". It truly was a dream day of fishing. A few fish had their tales mostly cut off. The story is that someone wants them to be bigger by the time they reach 18". Supposedly the game warden said they'll be in more trouble than someone keeping sub-legal fish. I'll be in the Cedar ridge area late this week/weekend in a little camo War Eagle for my annual Stockton trip, stop by and say hi if you happen by that way. I'd like to meet some of you and swap some stories. Drew www.drewswhips.com
