Used 8# Trilene XL for several years on Current, never felt like I was spooking the smallies. Plus you never know when you might accidently hook a walleye. Seems like 8lb still gives plenty of casting distance with 1\4 oz jigs and small crankbaits.

Has anyone fished the Current river for walleye lately? A good friend of mine has been diving the river for the past two years and claims there are more jacks than smallmouth. Sounds reasonable since MDC has been stocking lower current for nearly a decade. He also says the 18-24" fish are abundant.
