  1. I caught this on a worm and bobber. Anyone know what it is? It's soft like a minnow, but it has spines like a bluegill or bass.

Color of fluke? I prefer pearl white but I don't think there's a lot shad in that lake. Watermelon maybe?
  3. It's supposed to be nice-ish this Friday, but I haven't been there in a few years. Any tips? I'm going to go with the old standbys of a seven inch trick worm and a Rapala x-rap jerk bait. But I'm also thinking of trying a bluegill colored swim jig and a bluegill colored spinnerbait. Does this sound like it would work? Any tips would be much appreciated.
  4. A pearl white super fluke weightless on a 4/0 hook and a 7/16 peanut butter & jelly finesse jig with a cinnamon purple speed craw trailer are my two go to baits.
  5. For bigger fish I'd try the same rig, but with a live minnow. For me minnows can't be beat for spring crappie.
  6. Thanks for the info. I'll post what i find if i find any at all.
  7. I plan on spenind the next weekend on the water for crappies and whites, and maybe a bonus walleye or two. I thought about fishing under lights, but maybe the day would be better with this cooler weather? Anyone know if day or night would be better? And what areas they're bitting at? Thanks.
  8. I've been fishing Beaver Lake for quite a few years and I can catch bass, stripers, and crappie with some ease. I've never caught a Flathead catfish on Beaver, but I've heard of people catching them Where do I fish to catch them? What time of year is best? What kind of bait do they like on Beaver? Small bream or shad? My guess would be a large, live Gizzard shad on a summer night on a gravel bottom but I've never caught one like that. Any opinion would be appreciated
