  4. I was thinking of maybe just staying at River of Life. I work for the Fire Department and it's just time to get out of town for a few days. I thought about doing the whole river float but I didnt wanna deal with having to ferry my truck etc. So I'm thinking Ill just hit River of Life. I checked out the site seems like a nice place and really geared towards fly fishing which all I pretty do. Thanks Guy's Brad
  5. Looking at taking about a week long trip down to the NFOW later this month, I plan bringing my kayak an floating 2 or 3 days even if its the same sections over and over doing some smallmouth fishing and a few days of trout fishing. Any suggestions Brad
  6. you could make one out of rope and a strap just fine. I have the coiled type only gave about $12 or so for it. I like it because when I have a fish on I can just put the paddle over the side and work the fish. Brad
  7. I would probally mount it where the instructions say to..I have an Ocean Kayak SOT...I just slide my paddle blade under the bungee's on the deck. I would def get a paddle leash. You will be amazed at how fast you can drift away from a paddle if you get busy fighting a fish...not that I've ever had to paddle with a flip flop Brad
  8. I currently do all my fishing from an Ocean Kayak Prowler Trident 13 with a rudder. I also have it equipped with a Humminbird 383C fishfind. At 29" wide I find it very stable to fish from. Here's a few pics of it. Also I'm a lil bit bigger guy and the weight cap is great. I have Scupper Plugs in all the Scupper holes which makes for a very dry ride. So I'm not sitting in water. It has 2 flush rod holders behind the seat, I am able to store a full 9' fly rod inside the kayak. I just recently installed a scotty rod holder on the top of the rod pod. I have made a few camping trips and very long paddles with this set up and i couldn't be happier. Brad
