  1. I keep hearing they are good smoked... But I can't seem to keep the end lit... I'm with britts... Lemon, garlic, onion, butter... and something like Mrs Dash or Cavender's... in foil... on the grill or in the oven. I'm willin' to bet the farm that you could sub trout flesh for the shrimp in Leonard's seahorses and come out with a fine piece of cuizine... I do wish I had the recipe this little place down in Texarkana use to serve... Pan fried butterflied trout.... YUM YUM! Made trout worth eatin'....
  2. Now wait a minute... I'm tryin' to eat lunch here... Well at least you didn't say "Leonard in tight leather chaps..." OOOOWWWWWW!!! There went lunch...
  3. I keep waitin' for Mrs Ducky to pick up on the subject line of this thread. How have you hidden that from her Ducky? Yeah, the "ol' ball an' chain" can be an "ol' ball an' chain" sometimes, huh? Uh... what's that? NO Honey... I'm talking about my JOB... not YOU!!
  4. I suppose when the next world record comes out of Greer's Ferry Lake in Arkansas, they might just move back south for one more try...
  5. During my convalescence, I happened upon a show on OLN fly fishing for sharks... When one of those sharks hit big, I had my back turned. I hear the reel start screaming and the hair on the back of my neck stood up... Dang I'm jonesin'....
  6. OK... Which one of you guys hit the Power Ball? Check your tickets... 't'wern't me by the way... Quarter billion dollars... Whomever it was is now my bestest buddy!!!! And I'm up for adoption...
  7. I plan to sell tickets to watch me the first time I take my bionic knee to the water ... Should be quite entertainiing...
  8. The "color" version is suppose to vanish underwater, but be visible to the fisherman out of the water. The colorant makes the cost of manufacturing about 2 cents per 10,000 ft higher and therefore twice as expensive on the shelf....
  9. Just think how hungry they are today... Those MP3 files are not very filling at all...
  10. Yeah, John... Or the sound of water dripping from a net "full" of 24 inch trout... Heck... 18 inch trout for that matter.... OK... even 15 inch... or less on a slow day...
  11. Ain't we the best teachers ever?
  12. What? They don't have it at the Thayer WalMart? Of course a better chance at the Ash Flat SuperCenter....
  13. Hmmmm... good question... I'm not sure. I've never gotten it completely full yet... May have to start buying bigger bottles... Of course, I COULD start putting coffee creamer in it like Leonard does...
  14. "The Grand Ol' Opry.... Let 'er go boys!!!" Well... just ain't the same without Grant Turner let alone Ernest Tubb and Roy Acuff... Let alone the fact that they broadcast from dang near Hendersonville and not the Ryman downtown... Of course, you can still catch a show now and then at the Ryman and then go across the street (canti-corner) and catch a Predetor's game... (Hockey in Nashville... sheesh...) But you probably will see Vince Gill there... one of their biggest fans.
  15. I've been posting mine to photobucket.com and linking the URL on my posts. Seems to work OK and photobucket will even let you change the size to fit forum postings... or avitar size...
  16. Now if you hear a deer gobble, a turkey snort, a woody howl, and a coyote whistle, maybe you should check just how large that flask is in your back pocket...
  17. What lakes remain on the list of tournaments?
  18. Guys, Zach is a wealth of information and a great guy. I don't know how he does it all, but he's an attorney/magazine writer/photographer/fly fisherman/fly tier/fly caster/webmaster/brain surgeon/fry cook/ double naught spy.... Keep an eye on his site for some good information and those webcast/pods are some great interviews!
  19. Phil, What about individual names on the back?
  20. OK... my 6' 6" should be on the way and just won a Pflueger 1494 made in '66... Should make a sweet little setup. Now if I can just get this dang knee to let me stand long enough to use it...
  21. You can get anything you want at Alice's Restaurant...
  22. (Mrs Ducky) - "Quit a-makin' that rackitt, Ducky... Ya sound like an ol' bar!" (Loretty Lynn to "Dew" aka "Mooney" Lynn in Coal Miner's Daughter...) It's kuz she LUVS yew, Ducky... you ol' bar! Uh.... Wait.... You mean you don't need capitals to fish?
  23. Pic #1 - Purty picture... #2 - Who caught the Rainbow wearing a baseball cap? #3 - Them "brown trout" is ug-LEE.... (nice carp...) #4 - Uh... is it cold out there or are ya just camera shy? #5 - I think it says "ATTENTION ANGLERS - If you can read this... Dang you got good eyesight!!" #6 - I have to agree with Wayne... Good pics, Phil... Looks like a good trip.
  24. OK... let's start over.... backing, fly line, leader, tippet, "main" fly or indicator fly, tippet, dropper. The dropper is the one at the end of the rig. If you tie a scud or small fly then a wooly as a dropper, it might appear to a fish to be a fry chasing a bug and might work well. Rigged with the WB as the main fly and a scud as a dropper... well... It COULD work, but just doesn't look right in my head... But then that's MY head we're talkin' about...
  25. Glad you did, CC... I've heard good things about Vanish, but never tried it. I might tie some of my own leaders as well if it looks that good.
