I usually just put one in my hand and feel the weight of the fly... Actually the color idea is a good one. I usually keep my weighted flies in one box and unweighted in another.

Do you practice with your bow from a height or only on level ground? Get up in the air and get a turky target or something similar when you practice. You'll be surprised what you can do after a few sessions like that. You should not limit your bow practice to only level ground (not saying you do, but just saying for general information...) You'll find your shots at deer and anything else from a tree stand will improve if you have practiced from that angle. Hey... we need to be posting on the ozarkhunters.com forum! There's not much going on over there right now...

Ah... speaking of the Coffee Cup... I just found out on Wilson's board that the Coffee Cup is no longer in bid'ness... SSSsssooooo.... There will be no Saturday breakfast there... The choice for an alternate has been Mel's Diner which is just down the street a bit on Hwy 62. Another choice was another place in the Harp's parking lot strip mall... I'm voting for Mel's...

To add to my post.... If you are going to Conclave or will be around Mountain Home... Friday night there will be several fly fishermen converging on Fred's. I'm planning to be there so if you see me, stop by and say hi... I'll try to mumble some kind of greeting in return through a mouth full of catfish, hush puppies, and tomato relish... Now... who here owes me dinner?

The three key words in the restaurant business are "Location, location, and location!!" and Shorty Smalls in Branson proves that's not always the case. I've eaten at SS in Little Rock for over 30 years. One of the best chains out there in my opinion. Can't believe it didn't go over in Springfield.

I go by Zoey's on my way to Taney and have thought about stopping sometime for a meal. But seems like the parking lot is never full... not a great sign of great food... Is it that good CMAC?

Could you email me the coordinates to that stand tippet? I would like to get a close up of the camera and how it works.... Nice pics of nice bucks!!! I'd be anxious to get down there for a close encounter!!! Is that the CuddeBack with the night vision that doesn't use a flash? It does LOOK like a flash... I've got to get my trail cam set up but it won't happen before I hunt the area this weekend. Before I leave, I'll set up the cam and post the pictures of all the coons, guinaes, coyotes, spikes, and forked horned bucks that will pass by my stand...

I have both but have not used a clamp since I got my pedestal. With a clamp, it seems I was always having to jerry-rig some way to make it clamp to the particular table or place I was going to tie. With the pedestal, the only concern is having something to set it on and not marring the finish on anything my lovely bride might consider something not to be marred... I would suggest looking at a few pedestals before deciding. Some have ameneties that are worth the extra cost. But plain ol' pedestals work well too...

Been there, done that twice... Now getting ready to go through it again in a couple of years. The first two wound up dating losers and marrying losers. You really have little control over that if they are head-strong. But you do the best you can, hope for the best, and expect the worst... (sage words from my father and I'm sure his father before him...) Kids... even GOOD kids... will be kids. But if he gives the appearance of being a good kid, at least there is something to be proud of... All I can say is hang on tight... you're in for a hell of a bull ride for the next few years... but "cowboy up" my friend...

Mexica Villa is about average OK in my opinion. I'll take Maria's myself... and if you want good tamales... REAL tamales... Go to the Tamale King in the little strip mall on Sunshine... And for my money, just don't waste your time at Encheritas in Hollister... The new one in the Lowe's shopping center. I guess I've been to too many really good Mexican joints... I'm just really picky about what is good Mexican.

Soggy... Re-read that comment... I never said there WAS any sunbathing babes in the area... That was merely the interpretation that wives usually hear from our answers. My wife is convinced that I place my deer stands 16 feet up a tree so I can look down on any woman who might be sunbathing in the area... even when it's 20 degrees out there... For some reason she thinks I have sex on the brain all the time... can't imagine why...
