  1. John, What size sulpher were you pitching?
  2. I did see something yesterday in Nixa that really caught my eye. I can't remember the last time I have seen one and their range is not noted to be quite this far east, but I saw a Scissortail Flycatcher on a fence on Gregg Road.
  3. Nice pheesh, Leonard... What happened to your "Netboy?"
  4. St Elizabeth is south of Morrilton on Hwy 9. After you cross the Arkansas River, you'll come to the town of Opello. From there, you can go toward Petit Jean Mountain and before you get to the mountain, you'll see a sign pointing to St Elizabeth on your left. OR you can go south of Opello on 9 and St Elizabeth will be down a road on your right. Not sure when the dinner is there...
  5. Friends... yeah... that's it... that's the ticket... friends...
  6. (Theme from Pink Panther playing in the background...) IT IS.... LOVELY WEATHER WE ARE HAVING... I HOPE THE WEATHER CONTINUES.... (CRASH... BOOM... BANG... CRACK... CRASH...) The room is secure...
  7. I'll second that motion...
  8. There are four of those type festivals down there - Catholic Point, St Vincent, Sacred Heart, and St Elizabeth. ALL have great food and games. Ain't NUTHIN' like that Italian Sausage though... Hey... Catfish... Go to Andrews Liquor Store just south of Center Ridge, ask for "Hootie" and tell him I sent you for sausage. I bet he can find a jar or two for you. If not, he can get some when they start killin' and stuffin' and smokin' again...
  9. Uh.... DANO DID IT!!!! Hey, JC... you just WISH you could be as good as GF and me... NEVER happen, huh GF?
  10. Hey... you DO still have a camera... Nice pheesh and good "dad" memory...
  11. I resemble that remark...
  12. Welcome to the nuthouse!... We feel your pain working with Duckydoty...
  13. Blue Mountain Lake is just what you said, Mikey. There is an "art" to fishing those lakes with much success, but BML is not on the top of anyone's list in my opinion. If you were looking for Crappie, you should have gone a bit east to Nimrod... Trolling for Crappie in the channel on Nimrod can have some REALLY good results. But... Nice Drum... I bet it WAS fun on a 4 lb ultralight...
  14. Jerod, You are probably in the minority among those who fish the outlet... Seems they think foul hooking is THE way to fish...
  15. WUSS... I carry my bare hands... Davy Crockett style... Seriously, tho... the pepper spray is probably the best idea...
  16. David, Seems most of the rain was well north of Crane and that part...most was north of I-44. I know Roaring River is fine and Crane is OK right now... Good options. Get Tim's number at the fly shop and he can keep you up to date on the conditions over Cassville way... Tim? you there? (knock knock...)
  17. Welcome to the madhouse!!!... and to fly fishing (early welcome) and be prepared to be hooked and addicted to the long rod. OH... and if Trout Hollow is demolished, please don't stay at Phil's place... we wanna keep him around.... (But don't tell him we said that )
  18. That describes 85 percent of the guys that fly fish... including ME....
  19. “If you happen to see it walking across your field or something, grab the digital camera or the video camera, get a picture of it, and leave it alone,” said Francis Skalicky, a metro media specialist for the Conservation Department." DUH! "OK, Mr. Bear... Stand right over here... that's it... now... paw up... show us those teeth... THAT'S IT! WORK IT, BABY... WORK IT!!!!!! LOVE THE CAMERA, SWEETHEART... LOVE... THE... CAMERA!!!...." “We're studying the bears right now to see how much if any of a breeding population we have here in Missouri. We think they're wandering from Arkansas. They roam quite a bit,” said Skalicky." Ya'll are welcome!!
  20. For which one?
  21. I SAW THAT!! .... oops.... Hey, Jim... Fly fishing for carp and bass is a lot more popular than some fly fishermen want to admit...
  22. Duckydoty... put your polarized glasses on... the fish are under the water in those pics... OK... OK... OK... here's one.... Or maybe you like this one? Or maybe THIS is what you're talking about?
  23. Add to Tim's comments - Those can coolers work well for foam, too. Use one of those paper hole punch (the single type) to punch out a body. Then rubber legs (of course)... You can make the legs out of thin rubber bands and color them with Sharpie markers. Same goes for the foam by the way. I know you said you don't tie, but they are SO easy, you should get someone to get you started...
