  1. You are right Greasy B. I have seen that here on our local county lake. When they first re-opened the lake, the southern feeder was wadable, muddy, soft, but wadable and I caught hundreds of bass and bluegill from it in the first summer. Now, the weeds have taken over and it is too soft to get near the water.
  2. What lake is this? I am very familiar with this area.
  3. Wow, that looks like a blast! I need to catch some gar on the local river here just to change things up from the bluegill and redear that are the majority of my catches. Thanks for this Brian!
  4. Hell of a nice first crank fish. Mine was a five inch bluegill.
  5. 9-1/2'? darn, that is a long rod. I don't care for anything over 8' to be honest with you and glass just has that IT factor, IMO. The heaviest graphite rod I have fished and actually enjoyed it was an 8.5' 5wt, that I fished with a 6wt line.
  6. I guess I need to do some more research about peak activity, water temperature preferences, etc and plan a weekend float on the river. I appreciate the time fellas.
  7. Thanks guys, a veritable assortment of answers. I have thought about doing some PDT fishing...
  8. I guess my question is if any muskies get into the river up from the lake where one could float and or wade for them.

I doubt that it is floatable. There are some pools that will have water, but the floatable water is few and far between.
  10. That is gorgeous water and is proof that streamway conservation can and does work.
  11. I want to hook one on a 4wt...that would be a blast!
  12. I haven't caught a crappie in two months and an 11" bass would make my day.
  13. http://www.gameandfishmag.com/2011/06/03/new-world-record-sunfish/?fb_ref=.TmbNhQK6a_Y.like&fb_source=home_multiline 5#8.8oz Shellcracker from Lake Havasu, AZ.
  14. I was just ribbing you. If it is legal, I am fine with it, but it will be a bit unwieldy to cast, IMO.
  15. Welcome to March...we hashed this out back then and it has been discovered that in Missouri, you can only have three hooks on it, in Kansas, you can only have two. It kind of defeats the purpose.
  16. I'm guessing the results will say that the current limits are fine and the spotted bass removal is working. I wouldn't expect anything groundbreaking.
  17. Yours or the one from CF? I think CF is spot on. Anyone who thinks that carrying concealed is going to help in a "need it now" situation isn't aware of a lot of things. If someone has a gun trained on you, can you draw yours and fire before they squeeze one off? The answer is no.
  18. I am a liberal, but I am glad that Christie didn't run this time around. Romney and Ryan are a dream ticket for the Obama campaign.
  19. You think calling Eastwood a senile old man is political? Wow, you are sensitive on the subject. Concealed Carry is a great thing if used responsibly. I am half tempted to pay my tax and get my CCW license in Kansas, just because. JD is right (did those words really just come from my fingers?) on the fact that Romney gave the least enlightening speech of the entire Convention, only slightly exceeding the lie filled remarks of his VP candidate. Eastwood was very, shall we say, off his rocker, while Condi gave a great speech. It wasn't a bad GOP convention, but more than one speech-maker didn't mention Romney much, if at all, and began his 2016 campaign this week. You know who it is.
  20. I am aware of that. If that is still the case, the top end size of Neoshos could be a lot bigger than is known.
  21. Wayne, I hadn't seen that. Without a hands on look at the mouth, I can't say whether it is a Neosho or northern. If it is a northern, that could suck bad.
  22. Yes, nice fish indeed.
  23. Pics or it didn't happen
  24. Where in Kansas? If it is where I think it is, I would be honored to spend some time chasing fish with you.
