  1. The Museum going into Cassville has alot of info on her. Pretty interesting.
  2. What date does it start on this year and who's all excited as I am about it?
  3. I heard from someone else that nearly every kid had atleast 1 big fish and a few caught some over 15 pounds.
  4. We had a great weekend at the River. I brought some friends that had never left the state of Texas much less fly fished and they had a blast. We started out Friday evening in the C&R and got warmed up. Caught the first 10-15 fish on dry flies and then switched to a glow ball and picked up a few. Had a few on a thread jig also. Never seen so many people in the C&R but we still caught some fish.
  5. Nice report Tim. We're gunna head out this evening after work and be there till the 20th. I'll be in there to spend a ton of money.
  6. I need to see some fishin pics. I'm stuck in the office. May be able to head up to the river in a couple of weeks but it might as well be years.
  7. That's a beautiful part of the river. I'd do anything to own some land right through there. Anyone know who owns that place right up the hill from the cemetery?
  8. So what's going on at the park? I've got the opportunity to run up there but I'm wondering if it's worth it. Must be too cold or something cause I haven't heard any fishing reports. Any problems with the roads getting ice on them? I've never been up there in the winter.
  9. It died off pretty quick on here. Anyone been fishing since opening weekend?
  10. You gotta love those jigibous. I tied a few for a friend the other day and she caught her first 2 lunkers saturday morning.
  11. I think I saw that same fish. Is that in zone 2?
  12. Not that I know of. If i'd a knowed it was you I'd have got a book and got you to sign it for me.
  13. Terry, was that you that brought the books into to Tim's?
  14. Hey everyone! Just got home in Texas. We had a great weekend fishing. We caught some real nice fish. Nothing just awesome but alot of above average fish. We wanted to make it to breakfast but i had 2 people with me that didn't have fishing licenses and I had to get them hooked up and rigged up before 8. And we didn't make it to Missouri until 2 a.m. fri. The weather was awesome the whole time. We had a great trip and can't wait to get back up there.
  15. Just below the bridge in zone 2. I always catch a few like that when I walk through there. Caught one today just like it. May be the same one. LOL!
  16. Yes sir, south east texas. Silsbee actually. Just north of Beaumont.
  17. I started out making a 7 1/2' 5 wt. Just before i glued the strips together I broke 2 of the tip strips. I could have fixed it and hid it under the guide and no one would ever have been able to tell but i decided to go with the mistake and make a 6 foot 3 wt. It was an awesome decision. I love it. I can fish all day and cast anywhere I want to cast in Roaring River.
  18. Not sure about your question but curious, what part of tx are you from?
  19. The bottom picture is from a couple years ago. Those were caught on pink thread jigs and pink chenille jigs. (Same reason my wife's reel, rod, boots, and pocket knife are pink.) All the others were topwater. Just different patterns that I have come up with.
  20. Just thought I'd post some pics to make it hard for everyone to sleep tonight.
  21. There is some excellent fishing near by but we had to leave early because we were in a wedding. The oysters normaly let anyone taking the class stay free that weekend to fish with your new rod. There are a lot of public and private sections of the river. There is a really nice Fly Shop/Guide Service there that can put you on some HUGE fish in private sections of the river.
  22. Thank you! Are you from Texas RedRaider?
  23. I crowned the ferrules on mines... More sanding and polishing, wrapping on the guides... Glueing on and forming the cork grip. Varnishing and finally fishing!
  24. My wife and I went to Blue Ridge, GA to Bill Oyster's Bamboo Flyrod class. We started with a huge chunk of Tonkin cane. We did hundreds of steps including flaming it to color and temper it, splitting the cane, straitening the split pieces. Beveling them, planing, sanding, tempering in an oven, tapering, glueing...
