  1. Absolutely tooooooo much time on someone's hands. And to think, they could have gone fishing! Cool though. John
  2. Wish I knew so I could get the print. I found this surfing the net one time on another fishing site and liked it. I'll have to do a search for this Dwayne Hadda or Dwayne Taylor and see if it's the one. It's a great picture and I would love to have it on my wall so if you happen across the print let me know. John
  3. You can send them anytime. I'll keep them boxed up until it's time to mail them back out. My address is: 610 S. Lincoln Erie, Kansas 66733 Thanks. John
  4. It would be easier to include the two for yourself that way I can simply make up 7 identical boxes with the same number of each fly in each box. I know it sounds funny tying up two flies for yourself, but it's easier for the swap meister when it comes to packaging. John
  5. Mike, if the other's don't mind you can jump on in if you still want. That'll bring the total tyers to eight. Also, Zach just reminded me we were doing a double tie. That means each tyer gets two flies. So everyone needs to tie up 16 flies with Mike included in the group. John
  6. Okay gang, there's been no activity on the swap since the 17th, so what do you say we go ahead and close it and set the deadline for flies to be mailed by August 11th? If your okay with that; then lets get tying. You can mail your flies to me at: John Jackson 610 S. Lincoln Erie, Kansas 66733 If you need more time; it is summer after all and family and fishing take a lot of your time; then let me know what date works for you guys. Stay safe . . . John
  7. I've already booked next year for me and my wife. Can't wait! I'm with Phil, if you've ever thought about a trip to Alaska - this is the one. You can't beat the price, the accomadations and the great people! I'll be going up the first week of July with my wife this year. John
  8. What a story - glad to hear things will turn out okay. Yup - always set the parking brake and if it's steep enough, put some chocks behind the rear wheels. John
  9. Opps, forgot to say welcome to the board Tisha! There's plenty of help here to get you started with your fly rod. Hope to see ya on the waters some day. John
  10. Not a member yet, keep telling myself I need to join, but work keeps me pretty tied up. It's on my top 10 list though. John
  11. This kinda reminds me of a previous thread about a guy that "lost" his wife! LOL John
  12. Thanks John. I don't get to make it down to the great state of Arkansas as much as I would like, but the reading helps calm this old Arkie and passes the time until my next trip. Looks like October will be my next trip for the conclave. See ya there. John
  13. Wear camo Terry - they'll never see ya coming! John
  14. HFD - amen brother! John
  15. I have a perfect place in my "papa" room for a set. I'd be interested in the set with a rainbow and brookie added in. John
  16. Sounds like a good "business trip" to me! John
  17. I bought a thermarest just this year and it's GREAT! I don't know what I did without one. It's made tent camping fun all over again. Hopefully we can get a bunch of us to camp and continue the fun at night back at the camp site. Wish I could make it this weekend but I've got to work. I start a 48 hour shift at 8 p.m. tonight and won't get off until Saturday night. Have fun and catch a few for me. John
  18. I'll probably stay over night in one of the campsites. I've got a little tent I'll bring over and set up. Noluck - you're welcome to pitch on my site if you want. John
  19. I don't think you could go wrong with a TFO. I've got a nice Sage 5 wt and a couple of TFO's. For the money, the TFO is a superior rod. I took one of their 7 weights to Alaska with me and it didn't have any problems with the sockeyes! John
  20. Wouldn't it be great to hack a hacker! Then maybe they would understand the trouble they cause for no apparent reason. John
  21. Sounds like a good weekend. I haven't been able to make it to Bennett this year. Hope to make it over soon. John
  22. A very good story and an even better memory for you and Dylan! Sounds like an excellent day. Thanks for sharing with us. It brings back memories of me and my son's day's on the water. He's now 24 and in the Navy stationed at Japan. Can't wait for him to get back home. John
  23. I really haven't set a deadline or number of tyers yet. I was waiting to see how much interest there was. So, it's been up now for almost a week. I'm thinking 10 tyers with a deadline to have the fly's to me by the end of August. As for the number of flies, I liked the idea of two each (one for using and one for a pattern). Let's hear some input from the others. I know Zach is going to the national conclave so that may put a crimp in the deadline. John
  24. Good looking site Leonard! It's been added to my favorites and I'll visit it often. Keep the pictures coming; they help passify me when I'm not able to make it to the water. Best of luck to you buddy and I hope to fish with you soon. John
  25. Very nice fish and very colorful! Sorry for the loss, but even the best efforts fail from time to time. At least your tried. John
