  1. How bout 120$? Id rather not ship them but i can if need be.
  2. Hey yall, I bought these sunglasses on-line this summer and they just don't fit over my giant nose. These glasses are brand new, in the box, stickers and all with the factory warranty and case. They have the polarized glass copper colored lenses with the green reflective tint and the brown plastic frames. Smith is known for their quality and they make excellent fishing glasses. I wish these fit my oddly shaped face... But anyway, they retail for around $170. Id like to get $140 or best offer. If there is no interest I'm putting them on ebay. I live in Fayetteville, AR. Email me at emailryburn@gmail.com if interested. Thanks. Heres a link to a picture of the glasses- these are the "polar green mirror": http://www.smithoptics.com/Riverside_32_671.html?fl=flase
  3. Haha- I'll try to fly fish for anything- I once sat out at my buddies pond trying to catch catfish on a fly for several hours- turns out they will take a fly- if you strip it really, really slow. Haven't figured out the walleye yet though.
  4. Well, i was using a 1 ips 7 weight and letting it sink as far as the current would allow. I lost a bunch of flies so I think I was pretty deep... probably just generally inept at the walleye game.
  5. I went out there a couple times this weekend and saw some boats catch some nice keepers but I couldn't really make it happen on the fly rod. Do the walleye tend to stick to the deeper cuts?- because I felt like I wasn't getting down to them despite a sinking line and weighted flies. It also didn't help that I discovered my waders had sprung a sizable leak over the winter.
  6. I just ordered a six weight sinking line from Allen Fly fishing for less than 15 bucks and I am not yet sure if I wasted my 15 bucks. Anyone ever used any of this company's equipment? Good prices and nice looking reels, might be worth a look- allenflyfishing.com
  7. What is the best way to get at the walleye with a fly? I'm assuming a sink tip and minnow patterns- similar to fishing for whitebass. Any estimates on how long it will take for them to move? I went out to the white the other day and tossed a few clousers around, knowing I was too early but I just needed to fish for something and i haven't ever caught the walleye run before.
  8. That picture is pretty awesome. I want to do that. Too bad the small mouth aren't all that awake this time of year.
  9. In my experience, which is not all that impressive, a four weight is never going to be your all around tailwater choice. If you want one rod, go with a 5 or 6 weight. As for myself, I love my Orvis Troutbum 4 weight- but not on Taney in high water. It is great at Roaring or beaver or maybe on the Little Red as long as you don't want to chuck a streamer or two. My favorite rod right now is my 3 weight Sage TXL and I am sure it would be awesome in a four weight as well. I have used a few St. Croix's and they are solid sticks for the most part.
  10. Hey yall, I am just a student/fly-fishing addict with less opportunity to fish than I would like. I mostly fish Beaver tailwater because of its proximity, although the consistently stocker sized fish get a little old. I make it to any other river I can whenever I can as well. I've been reading the forum just about every day in class- which tells you a bit about my priorities. Now I'm spending more time building fly rods and tying flies than doing homework so we will see how long that lasts. Anyway, I love the site and the forum. -J.R.
