Brian K. Shaffer
Is it just me.. or has anyone noticed the large number of bees buzzing about ? Is this just on Taneycomo by the dam ?!?! 'Cause I got stung there today, and I swatted 3 bees away from me while on the water with my hat. The odd thing is.. one of the bees was gobbled up by a trout not 8 feet below me after it hit the water. I didnt think trout would eat bees.. but now I know they do. Anyone got a good remedy to take this painful stinging / burning / itchyness away ?? best fishes - Brian Just once I wish a trout would wink at me! ozarkflyfisher@gmail.com I'm the guy wearing the same Simms longbilled hat for 10 years now. Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted October 27, 2005 Root Admin Share Posted October 27, 2005 May be it was your aftershave... I was there earlier and had no problems. And swatting at them doesn't help their aggression. More importantly - how was fishing? Remember this is a fishing bbs. Pain? It will stop in a few hours. Brian K. Shaffer
Well the fishing was ok.. low Dissolved Oxygen aint helping things out very much.. thats for sure. I mean.. I saw tons of fish.. and many very big fish, but getting them to take was another story altogether. The bees sting pain ? Well.. I took some (3) 25mg benedryl at 6pm or so and just woke up about 40 minutes ago. The pain is gone.. but so is 4.5 hours. Phil, I missed meeting up with you totally, is tomorrow night open for you ? best fishes - Brian Just once I wish a trout would wink at me! ozarkflyfisher@gmail.com I'm the guy wearing the same Simms longbilled hat for 10 years now. I hate 'em!!!
Leonard
Hey guys... remember this the next time you get stung.. 3 TBS of baking soda 1 tsp of water 2 tsp of vinger mix all 3 together until a thick paste froms (if to thick "slowly" add drops of water).. add to sting, and let set for 15 minute... the reason the sting is so painful.. is that the stingers stays in you skin when you get stung (thus killing the bee itself)... sorry it took so long to post.. http://www.taneycomonights.com
