Okieflyfisher53 Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 Like Dano, I also have the 7'6" Three Forks 3wt. It is a great little rod at a great price. I recently got a SA XPS DT line for it and love the way it casts. Steve
rcguy Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 I have the Three Forks 5 weight I have used a lot in the pond behind my house. I got it when Cabela's opened in Kansas City for a song. It always amazes me how well it casts. Nice action. You'll like it. I ordered one of the $50 Scierra IC3 rods but have not gotten it yet. I looked at them 2 months ago when they were 150.00 and I passed to buy something else but when I saw them for 50 bucks I could not resist. They're beautiful. Fly shop guy says they were excellent of $150. I can't seem to find much info on them though. anyone tried one?
drew03cmc Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 I too had the Three Forks 3wt and LOVED it. I caught hundreds of gills on it in one summer. I sold it and made more than my money back on it with a little SA reel. You made a great choice Andy
Kyle Posted March 1, 2008 Author Posted March 1, 2008 Hey guys, thanks for the imput. I'll let you know how it turns out. Kyle
strangercreek Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 Kyle, They just redesigned this rod. Did you get the new one? (most likely that you did) They went from a medium to a medium fast action and I think they might have improved the hardware. I used to have one of these and it is a great rod for the money...no reason why you shouldn't get plenty of enjoyment of it while fishing Taney or where ever.
brittsnbirds Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 Kyle- You do know if you are not happy regardless how far down the road they will take it back? For sure, the guys at the KCK Cabelas told me if for some reason I didn't like my LST to bring it back and they would let me test drive until I found one. Plus if you want they will rig you one up and take you out to the pond for a test drive!! They are customer service nuts over there. Probably will get better since there are 2 Bass Pro shops in KC area now!! Pat
