Fishing Buddy Don House Posted February 27, 2008 Fishing Buddy Posted February 27, 2008 Snakem, Here is a good Company that Sells Pro Guide Batteries Center City Marine in Springfield 1-866-876-2628 ask for Gary he can take care of you. They Cost around 88.00 per battery for a good deep cycle battery Worked very well for me in the past years, and I run the heck out of them and charge them every night! Also you can go to Walmart they carry a Maxx Life Deep Cycle cost around 95.00 dollars, they are ok used some a few years ago. And last you can look at the new gell cell batteries very nice but also very high dollar!!! Start at 150.00 per battery Good Fishing Capt. Don Little help on trolling batteries please. Trav Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 I used to buy all those marine brand batteries. My last one was a Nautilus and only lasted 4 years. So I gave up and bought one of Oreilleys brands. Got a Deep cycle Marine for 90 bucks and it is now going on six years. So good so far. "May success follow your every cast." - Trav P. Johnson
snakem Posted February 27, 2008 Author Posted February 27, 2008 Thanks for the reply Don and Trav, will check in to it Lots of luck this year.
Dutch Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 I have used lots of brands over the years. The main thing I look for is the reserve amps 185-200. Keep the water over the plates and charge them within 24 hours of use an most deep cycles will run several years. I get rid of them after 3 or 4 years before they start to fail. By the hour of use most any maintained battery will be very cheap to operate if you fish much.
snakem Posted February 28, 2008 Author Posted February 28, 2008 HI Don,Question what is this gell cell? Its new to me,never heard of it. Have u tried them. Also Trav are u running a 12v or a 24v system. Boy if its a 24v U are verry lucky, lets go fishing lol. O heck I got lost, and I was going to ask about the Optimix 6 pack. I know they are very high, but are they worth the money. And are they good.
Fishing Buddy Don House Posted February 28, 2008 Fishing Buddy Posted February 28, 2008 snakem, the gell cells are the optima 6 pack batteries.. From what I hear they are really good, but also very expensive too. last time I checked into them they were also double the cost.. I run a 36v system, plus two cranking batteries talk about adding cost!! So worth the money I would say yes, but that is a lot of money!!! Good Fishing Capt. Don Capt. Trav Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 I only use mine to run trolling motors and a graph. Just a 12V works for me. I still have to pull start my old 18 horse. Haha "May success follow your every cast." - Trav P. Johnson
flipper Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 I agree with trav on the oriellys, had good luck with em. can't say the same about walmart brand ,had to replace two after only one season. they were the yellow case everstart. didn't think much of their everstart chargers either.
