Members dollyvarden Posted February 27, 2008 Members Posted February 27, 2008 New to the forum, just found it last night! Planning on spending some time in Branson next week. Looks like it will be kinda cool. Not bringing a boat but we may rent one at Scotty's one day. Any current reports advice on fishing Taneycomo in this area would be appreciated. Will be staying at Big Cedar, any ideas on where to fish near there from the shore?--have caught smallmouth and kentuckies in the past near there this time of year. Thanks in advance!
Clay Goforth Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 You can access some good spots at Taney up close to the dam that are walk in...If they are pumping water through the dam and the outlets are flowing, that would be a good place to start...You have to fight through the 4,000,000 flyfisherman though...HA Clay Goforth=4px> Trophy Anglers Guild www.TrophyAnglersGuild.com "Happiness resides not in possessions and not in gold; the feeling of happiness dwells in the soul." - Democritus

Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted February 28, 2008 Root Admin Posted February 28, 2008 May see a pause in generation if Table Rock keeps dropping and we get no rain. So it's alittle early to make a definite call. If drifting, go to the cable and use a white 1/8th oz jig and work it off the bottom. Get some other colors too like olive, black and brown just in case they don't like white that day. Also drift egg flies in peach and pink on the bottom also. Below Fall Creek gulp power eggs are working in white, orange and yellow. Table Rock's temp is still below 40 so you won't find much esp from the bank. But it may change. Again, wait alittle closer to your trip.
mwfischer Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Does less generation typically slow fishing down or can it actually speed it up. I'm referring to Trout in Taneycomo?
