Bman Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Thinking about a River Pro jet boat.Built here in Hillsboro Mo. Anyone have any experience with them? The only good line is a tight line
Gavin Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 There are a few riverpro owners on this forum http://forums.riversmallies.com/forums/index.php?showforum=2 Kevin Turner, the guy who owns riverpro frequents that forum as well. I'm sure he'd answer you Q's and take you for a boat ride. More HP than I'd care to share the river with, but you have to admit that they are impressive boats. Cheers.
Bman Posted March 1, 2008 Author Posted March 1, 2008 Gavin Thanks for the website! I know what you mean.I'm a flyfisherman and know how I feel if you hear a jet boat coming your way.I always waded, till recent years when I got a jet boat .I am careful to respect waders, for ex...at Taney coming up from Fall Creek to lookout point in my jet boat.If I see waders around the corner at the Point Royale acess,I stop there.I always give wade fishermen a wide berth.Heck if I do put in at the MDC ramp below the Dam I NEVER go up from there unless 3-4 units are on! I'm considering River Pro cause they are quieter, and very good for the rivers I live so close to.The meramec river near Big river. Thanks again The only good line is a tight line
Members goggleye Posted April 13, 2008 Members Posted April 13, 2008 I am a proud owner of a RiverPro. I was skeptical at first because I was and still am a wade and float guy. But as I've aged it takes too long to shuttle trucks and cuts into time on the water. and my canoe seems to be getting heavier and my fishing buddy is getting unreliable. The Guy who builds RiverPro Boats, Kevin Turner took me for a ride one day and I had one in my garage in less than a month. He custom builds each one. RiverPro Boats Go places that I woud drag my canoe through. It has made more water available to me. It allows me to hit a river for just a few hours when before I would have needed most, if not all day. I cannt say enough good things about them. They are built by a fisherman for fishermen. Keven really knows what he is doing. Do yourself a favor. Call Kevin and go for a ride. It doesn't cost anything and you won't be sorry even if you don't decide to get a Riverpro for yourself. Enjoy the Ride
Bman Posted April 14, 2008 Author Posted April 14, 2008 I took a ride with Kevin a while back just before all the rivers problems. WOW Wish I knew about River Pro before I bought my boat! I will get the 186 Low Pro. The only good line is a tight line
Al Agnew Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 Just about everybody that I've ever talked to that owns one loves it. The only drawback I can see FOR THE OWNER is that you can't use 'em on the upper Current. Like Gavin, I question the necessity for the HP and size on a lot of Ozark rivers.
Members tinner Posted April 16, 2008 Members Posted April 16, 2008 That is one sweet looking boat. Anybody have $25,000 that they want to give me? haha
