Don Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 I didn't realize that I had this pic until I reviewed some summer vacation photos in my digital cam. I guess it turned out good because it wasn't planned or staged. I'm not the best at taking pictures. I liked it so much that it's on my desktop on my home PC. Many thanks to Duckydoty for showing me how to reduce pixels on my camera so I can post them to the forum from my dial up connection. Don May Don May I caught you a delicious bass.
Trav Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 I used to love tent camping but anymore my back cant handle sleeping on the ground or even on an air mattress. I wake up feeling all beat up. Going camping for a week on TableRock as soon as the dogwoods bloom to catch the Spring Bass Spawn, but in fifth-wheel trailer luxury. Great Pic Don. I like the lighting. Don Posted March 2, 2008 Author Posted March 2, 2008 I hear ya man, My back has been buggered up since I was a kid. I just count my blessings in that I know many other have worse back problems than mine. These days I pump that air mattress as tight as it can get. I hope that 5th wheeler will come someday. Thanks...Don Don May I caught you a delicious bass.
Danoinark Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 Nice picture Don... I agree on the tent camping. I just can't have a good nights rest in one. I have a couple planned this Spring as I go along with my cub scout grandson. I am like Trav, I feel really beat to a pulp after a night in a tent. techo Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 Ditto on the back and th tent. t does seem that you get used to sleeping on the airmatress in a tent after a few days. We go to Buffalo river and a few other places every summer. I love camping. It makes the kids drop their video games. Nothing better than smores and a glass of wine next to a camp fire. I love that photograph. I recently purchased a Pentax K1000 after reading many of the posts on here. The digital world saves a lot of money on film and developing. Thanks for sharing that photograph. Makes me want to go camping right now. I could be sipping coffee and watching that tent, while the kids are still sleeping. Tim Carpenter
Kansas Fly Fisher Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 Nice pic! I love the tent camping. The wife and I just bought us a new tent last year and have retired the slide-in cab over until the colder weather hits. We use the Coleman roll-out sleeping mats and get a good nights rest. They are only about an inch thick but feel like six! Of course, the back is still okay with me but I know my days coming. Sue, my wife, works at Nu-Wa in Chanute and I keep telling her she needs to tell them to keep her check and just give us one of those! Dano - try the rollout mat, they really do work! Terry Beeson Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 Yeah, I'm at that age where I prefer to "rough it" in a "Hampton Inn..." But I do love sitting around a campfire, fried taters and bacon on the camp stove, and all the other joys of being out there. Members bill kelley Posted March 3, 2008 Members Posted March 3, 2008 Beautiful. Just seeing it brought back memories of when I was a Scoutmaster. Waking up in the morning and smelling Coffee and Bacon over an open fire. Now it's wake up at 3am and use a compass to find the bathroom in my house. And I won't comment on any smells.
