Members Bassmandan Posted March 3, 2008 Members Posted March 3, 2008 I have atleast a dozen bags of senkos but they are all in the 5" size. When you guys rig senkos wacky style what size do you generally like to use? I'm thinking that the 4 inchers would be pretty effective and that 5" may be too big. Any Input? Gavin Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 5" Senkos dont work there...send those useless baits to me and buy some smaller ones.
Fishing Buddy Don House Posted March 3, 2008 Fishing Buddy Posted March 3, 2008 Bassmandan, 5" is too big for down here, but they will work.. I use 3" Ice colored in the spawn for when the bass are on the beds and then a 4" Green Pumpkin when they are schooling for the beginning of Summer.. Ton's of Fun!!! Good Fishing Capt. focused fishing Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 Bassmandan, I agree with Don, 4" is best day in day out but bring the 5" ones to the lake in the heat of summer and throw it weightless around laydowns and logs in the backs of the major creeks and up the rivers. Just pitch it next to the wood and wait, some big fish in that skinny water, they will pick it up and swim off with it. great way to pick up a kicker from June - September. Members Bassmandan Posted March 4, 2008 Author Members Posted March 4, 2008 Thanks for the info guys. I sort of figured 5" might be too big on TR. I don't know why I just thought of it now. Looks like I need to hit up the tacle shop again for some more senkos. Trav Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 I use 5 inch senkos for brownies here on Taney. I dont rig them wacky style but tip hook them or use them as trailers on hornets. Those and sluggos are both in my arsonal and work very well. In fact, a 5 inch sluggo is my go to soft bait for big brownies. "May success follow your every cast." - Trav P. Johnson
