Members TeamKingTuckey Posted February 14, 2006 Members Posted February 14, 2006 Going out in the boat today.. other than throwing the micro jigs, small kastmasters and rapalas, any other tips for this nice day..? In search for "Papa Pump" ><(((*>
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted February 14, 2006 Root Admin Posted February 14, 2006 Jigs- I'd throw straight line 1/16 or 3/32 oz sculpin, black or brown jigs from Short Creek to the dam, depending how far up you can get. Very little wind- easy fishing.

tippet7 Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 I am tired of work interfering with my fishing and social life. You are so stupid you threw a rock at the ground and missed.
Brian K. Shaffer Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 I thought the fishing was oretty good today. I caught only a few fish.. but I fished a few new patterns I am kind of having fun fishing with. I started with a dry / Griffiths Gnat in size 12. Caught a few, but the wind chop made it tough to always see it because of wave action. Then I went to a size 18 midge with a size 24 dropper. I didnt catch a single fish on either of these patterns Then I went to a Chocolate CDC Midge emerger -- and fooled a few bigger fish. I could see the little CDC sticking up pretty good.. so it made it more like fishing a dry. Several fish took the fly a split second after the bug hit the surface. There were trout rising like crazy.. really good from 3pm til around 4:30.. then it sort of went soft.. so I split. Carolyn Parker of River Run slayed the fish.. right above me - and below me - she caught 3 to my every one. I think she mentioned she was using a soft hackle.. then later a dry and a dropper. Besides the mention of some showers.. I might just have to fishing again tomorrow too! screaming reels - Brian Just once I wish a trout would wink at me! ozarkflyfisher@gmail.com I'm the guy wearing the same Simms longbilled hat for 10 years now.
