Hello Fellow fishermen I live in Kansas City and Frequent the Ozark Area more then a few times a year for trout fishing and canoe trips. I just got married and my wife and I spent some of our honeymoon in Branson in a cottage on Tanycomo. I now make and sell what I call the Bt Lure. Its a take on an lure invented in Canada made out of use beer and beverage tops. I made a few adjustments to that design and now i thank it works better than ever. The bottle caps are recycled from some local bars and pubs and i turn them into a spoon type lure. Ive fished with them in Colorado on the Animas River as well as the San Juan. Let me tell you the trout are as big as footballs up their. I also use this lure for bass, crappie whites and Iv even caught a catfish on one. Please Look at my web site and let me know what you think. Its www.btlures.com Thanks guys and gals

B1..

I was fishing on Taneycomo (downtown Branson) one afternoon.. a gentleman and a friend of his walk over to me and start catch fish like crazy.I started talking to them..

One of them was using a ultra-lite with a dime (yes money)... and the other guy was using a nickle (yes money).. They some how bent the center of the coins slightly to give it a wabble in the water... I was throwing a silver cloe and they out fished me 4-1...

One of the guys showed me a bottle cap (I think it was a MGD cap).... he put it on.. and every cast he had a fish.

These guys stood there for over 2 hour and I swear they caught over 75 each... And I maybe land 20...

If I remember right I got his name and address .... he was from the KC area..

Was this you???

I got one,

When I was living in Panama, the locals used to take balls of aluminum foil and hammer them down to make spoons. Worked great for the amber jacks that schooled under the lighted docks at night. Cant get more low tech than that.

I believe the origin of the spoon was just that, somebody attached a hook to a eating spoon and the lure was born.

Do fish seem to prefer any certain type of beer?

LoL the dime. Ya ive used a dime as well but not never down at taney but it does work great with the crappie up here. I like the Heineken the best because it bright green with a little red but the blue and silver bud light works goo too!

DAng, off to the store to buy more beers. I hate that when that happens...
