Snow Fly:

Sounds like a winning idea to me. Im game for Montauk or Bennett. I usually go to Montauk, but made it to Bennett twice last year. I have a pop-up camper that has 4 beds, if we want to get away for more than the day. I agree, gas is going to be the major expense this year. Better off sharing the cost than everyone paying it on their own. JJTroutbum is over in St.Louis also so us 4 could hook up and go together. I met NoLuck and JJ last year at Bennett at an OAF outing. Im always up to working on my schedule to try to fit in a fishing outing.

I forgot to add Flyfshn to the mix. He's also from St. Louis. Sorry to leave you out man, you are more than welcome to join in.

I'm going to Montauk on Mar 23rd and staying till the 30th. I have 4 guys from work going with me till the 26th. They have to leave to get back to work. I'm fishing the 27th - 30th alone if anyone wants to come down. I am staying at Eagles Park in my pop-up in slot 3.

Hoosier-

Not to cut in on your thread, but I was wondering how the camping is at Eagles Park. I've stayed in the park only 1 time at Montauk, it was ok. I usually am up at Bennett on the hill in my pop up. Going down the week of 17th (spring break). May have to hit Montauk first part of the week, friends are coming down to BSP later in the week.

Thanks!

You are not jumping our thread, all questions are welcome, at least in my opinion.

Eagles Park is my choice because it is more secluded than the Park. Sometimes I am the only one camping there. I know the owners and they keep a good eye on my camper and stuff while I am out fishing. If anyone pulls into the campground that they dont recognize they are out there to greet them. It is less than a 300yd walk to Tan Vat access of the current river. They have 7 Electric/water/sewer slots and the rest is primative camping. The 2 downsides are the road between Montauk and Eagles Park is narrow with cliff on one side and dropoff to the river on the other, and there are no mature trees for shade at Eagles, so in summer you need an awning or tent shelter. Eagles has a shower/bathroom house but it is not heated so it is closed in below freezing weather. In those cases, I always went to the Montauk shower house and restroom. If you decide to go to Eagles, PM me. The website is

Hoosier- I am supposed to be going down 3/20 and staying through the 23rd or 24th. I'm going to be staying in the park with a friend, but I hope to meet you on the river (outside the park.) I should be wearing and "Here Fishy, Fishy" hat with a Royal Wulff on it.

Kayser,

I will probably come down on the 23rd but will probably not get to fish till the 24th. My friends wont be there till about noon so I will probably start at Tan Vat and fish my way upriver to the park, then walk the road back to Eagles Park, or fish the river back downstream. Hope to run into you. Its always fun to put faces to the names on here.
