Members delta_queen Posted March 10, 2008 Members Posted March 10, 2008 Howdy, I'm a former Memphian> Just moved to AR (b/w Searcy and Pangburn) I have yet to fish the LR but am watching the river closely to learn it. (and the locals too) We just bought some good acreage on Sylamore Creek after a whopping smally season last Spring. This pic is posted to show ya'll how high the LR is to date. Don't expect it to drop any time soon... Been lurking for about 5 months - First post ~Virginia ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ home waters = Tombigbee River, Mississippi River, Buffalo River, and S. Terry Beeson Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 Welcome to the forum, Virginia... Yep... I'd say that's pretty high water for that stretch of the river. Members Lawman60 Posted March 11, 2008 Members Posted March 11, 2008 Welcome Virginia, Been waiting for the water to go down myself. I liive 3 1/2 miles from Pangburn towards Heber. Moved here the first of December but have been fishing the LR for nearly 18 years.
Cody Smith Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 Welcome Aboard, That's about as high as it gets! The lake levels are finally starting to fall. I would look for High Water for another week at least. TT Cody S. Smith 501.691.5701 Little Red River & Greers Ferry Lake Fish Greers Ferry Guide Service

RiverRunner Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 Welcome aboard, I live just down the road in Searcy. This high water has fishing pretty much shut down for me at the moment on the LR. On my way home from work today, I crossed the river here at Searcy and noticed that the current is very slow, I guess it is backing up from the White River. I hate to say it, but I think we're in for a long spring of high water here. At least the fish will get less pressure for a while.
