The bass fishing on Table Rock seems to be picking up a little bit. Went out a couple of days last week and fished around Big Cedar cove and up into Long Creek. Water temps are still holding in the upper 40's and the fish still seem to be in a winter pattern. I did manage to catch some nice Kentuckys and a few Largemouth, but they are still in deep water. Most of my fish came on bluff banks near the tops of submerged trees in 25-35ft. of water, with the boat sitting in 45-65ft. of water. Best tactics for me have been swimming a smoke colored grub on a 1/4oz. jig head just over the tops of the trees. With the days starting to finally warm up, it wont be long before the Wiggle Wart bite will be on.

The Crappie are also holding in the same trees and banks. On a guide trip last week, we caught 10 nice sized crappie out of one tree in 65ft. of water. It took some work to get them to bite, but they are there. Again, it wont be long, and they will start making their way to the banks as well.

Fished today 3-11-08 out of Eagle Rock. I was going to go with Buster, but he had a sick one and had to pospone. Went anyway. Got to ER at about 7 AM and the temp on my truck read a chilly 19. Water temps were 43.9 at the start and about 44.2 when I pulled off at 11:30.

First 2 hrs. nothing on the jerk bait except one swat. Thru a jig for a minute or two and caught one short, so I put it up and continued to throw the stick.. Water is gin clear at Holiday Island and it was not running. No wind at all, just flat dead calm.

About 10 AM I decided to throw the jig abit more, and caught 3 in the next 45 minutes. All Largemouth, with one decent keeper and two more shorts. I believe a guy can catch them on the jig. Seemed to be on long flat points in about 15 ft. Had the boat in about 20 to 25 draggin the jig off and around the points. Probably should have stayed with it after I got the quick bite early, but am stubborn and like to throw the stickbait. I'm sure I will get my fill of dragging as the year goes on.

TR is still being pretty mean to me.

Went out today myself got a late start and fished from 10:00am to 5:00pm, Fished from old 86 hwy to Kimberling City and back. Threw a stickbait most of the day found alot of fish but still no takes, did have one swing away but missed. That Was it!!! See alot of fish down deep in the 50 - 60 foot range on the bluff walls could have been crappie, but of course I was bass fishing.. Should of went up the other rivers and thrown a jig like Bill. Went out and found the fish Phil was talking about they are there, just there at the wrong time, wrong bait, ect... So talk about really sinking it up! I'm starting to get a complex.. But like always I'll go right back out again tomorrow.. Best thing for me to do is to keep fishing Taneycomo..

Good Fishing Everyone..

Was up the Kings on Sunday, Muddy Mess ran to just short of the AR line to find "clear" water, if your going take your time there is still a ton of debris in the water. Mangaged 2 bites on a jig in the clearer water keeper and one that pulled off. Got back to the Viola ramp and couldn't get to the ramp, all of the debris had it locked in. Dropped my partner off and had to put it on the trailer at Shell Knob. Found 47.6 water temp up the river but the bite was nothing to get excited about. It's got to get better, the fish gotta eat(?)!
