zander Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 I was wondering if during October and November if there are any big browns which run up to powersite like they do at Taney. I know the numbers would be less. I have also seen in the winter time rainbows darting around in Swan Creek below Shadow Rock, do they go further up into Swan? Anyone ever seen a brown up in Swan? Thanks. Phillip
Gavin Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 Should be a few brown trout down there....Powersite produced a state record brown in the late 1990's.
WebFreeman Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 I saw a guy w/ an 8 pound walleye and 8 pound brown in the same livewell at River Run once in early spring. Out near the mouth of swan are some boulders. I guess it's use as a staging area. He caught them both on minnows. “Many go fishing all their lives without knowing that it is not fish they are after.” — Henry David Thoreau Visit my web site @ webfreeman.com for information on freelance web design.
Forsythian Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 We've caught lots of browns in the first mile or two below Powersite... in all times of the year. I believe them mostly to be full-time residents. I don't guess there's a "run" per se, because I don't suppose there are many (any?) down lake. (except for the deep water trout down near Mtn Home). Beautiful fish, always a nice surprise... I don't suppose we've ever kept a one of 'em though. Cenosillicaphobiac
