KATroutman13 Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Anyone ever fished any of these private pay to play streams? Dogwood Canyon Rockbridge Spring Valley? Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Members Muleball39 Posted March 13, 2008 Members Posted March 13, 2008 I have fished RockBridge, it is down were I grew up, the food at the restruant is excellent as well as the bar that over looks the river. As for the fishing it is going to cost you, I belive it will run around $2 to $3 a pound. I caught 5 fish last time I was down there and it ran around $100. It has been a year or so sinced I have been down there, last time they talked like they may do a catch and release for $20 a day, don't know though. You'd be better off fishing the North Fork with Brian Wise for the price it would cost you down there. Rodney
timsfly Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 I have fished all three, they are fun, I got in free at springvalley and Dogwood canyon, it cost I belive 75.00 per day at rockbridge for C&R, and it is around 4.00 per pound if you just catch and keep. Dogwood canyon is ok, but springvalley and rockbridge are both much nicer, and less people around. rcguy Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Latest flyer I just got from Rockbridge says $80 per day catch and release. I would like to try it. Larry at the Bass Pro in KC says big stupid trout!!! 80 bucks a day is pretty steep. I can hit Bennett for 3 bucks. Wish we could get more info. For 80 bucks I would not want to be crowded in the slightest.
Gavin Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Never have fished Dogwood. Spring Valley closed, and a friend who owns property near there said it was sold. No word on what is going to happen there. Rockbridge is nice. Nice stream, lots of fish, nice cabins, good restaurant, sporting clays, nice bar. Good place to take your wife or girlfriend. Rooms and food are relatively expensive and its usually cheaper to catch and keep if you are fishing. Might check out Westover Farm near Steelville..think its about $50 a day for C&R Windrush Farm near Maramec Spring isnt bad either..but its closed some of the time. Good Luck.
