My Spring Break holiday started Saturday; that explains Friday night's cold front and Saturday's yucky weather. Went out today just before noon and stayed out until 4:30. Fished Haddock Creek up to Houseman. Water temp in Haddock Creek was 49.5. At Houseman the temp was 45.4 and there was current. They must have been discharging from Beaver. Water color was dingy but not muddy. Fewer stumps and logs than last time out, but you still had to watch where you were going. I jerked a clown, I slow rolled a black twin spin, I fished green pumpkin plastic craws on jig heads, I swam a horse head fluke, and I slow retrieved a number 37 original wart with stops and starts.

No walleyes and no white bass. Wish I could say otherwise.

Hooked three bass. Two on the wart. Landed one (16 inches) and the shorty jumped off. The third was on the plastic craw jig and broke off. Didn't feel that large, but the line broke at the knot.

Actually, although this is a meager report, at least I wasn't skunked and got to file a fishing report instead of a water condition report.

I was in the same area today at the same time, and I can confirm BB's report to a tee. Put in at Eagle Rock around 11:00 or so, and stayed out till about 4:00 or maybe 5:00 when we pulled out. Went north first, up to around Big M and that area up there, then back south, eventually all the way down to the Holliday Island area. We caught little bass on craw pattern cranks and a jerkbait, but nothing on plastics (I accidentally left my 'good' jigheads in the back seat of the truck though; typical). The water temp always measured 49.something, saw some variance, but never five-oh. The catches we did have seemed to be coming out of shaded areas into light on the wind blown shore side.

Talked to some guys at the ramp when we were leaving and they had come out for Crappie and Whites and had had a terrible day.

Thanks for the reports, I almost headed that way this weekend. Got some more rain coming in the next couple of days, but maybe after it passes things will warm up and the fish will get going.
