Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted March 19, 2008 Root Admin Posted March 19, 2008 Need to varify but we've been told all 10 gates are open at Table Rock Dam. Bill is headed up and will call to let me know.
rainbow Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 Phil, how high is the water at the resort? Saw a CNN report that the campground in downtown was flooded. Hope it goes down pretty soon. What do you think the effect will be on the fishing?
Bman Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 Hope everyone is ok. Will someone post some pics or video?thats a site to see.I was down at Taney in '72 I think and saw the flood gates open at Table Rock Dam. The only good line is a tight line
Leonard Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 Just got off the phone with Carol (river run).. Yes.. she says the gates are open!! http://www.taneycomonights.com
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted March 19, 2008 Author Root Admin Posted March 19, 2008 Bill headed up alittle bit ago... I gave him my video camera (hope I didn't make a mistake) and he's supposed to come back with video of the dam. Our lower ramp to the dock has alittle bit of water over it. The other ramps are level. Curtis is pulling trees out of the upper dock- it'll be like that all day. Water is still off colored but is clearing up and will be clear by afternoon. Fishing off the docks will be impossible as long as they run gates which I think will be for 5-7 days. Drifitng should be good esp below the dam. As soon as the creeks clear there should be trout holding up in the mouths and up in the creeks like Roark.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted March 19, 2008 Author Root Admin Posted March 19, 2008 Talked to Bill 5 gates are open. Still a bunch of junk in the water from Lookout down. He's made one drift from the cable using 2- 1/4 oz bell weights on a drift rig with an egg fly and scud tandem- caught 3 from there to the 3rd outlet on the egg.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted March 19, 2008 Author Root Admin Posted March 19, 2008 They're going to open the other 5 gates this afternoon.
rainbow Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 If you don't get too much more rain how long will it take for the lake to go back to normal?
MOBass Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 Any recommendations on what to throw with the gates open? I'll be down Saturday morning to give it a go unless I hear something outstanding is going on with Table Rock.
