I fish and live in Michigan, but I have been visiting Table Rock Lake since 1980. I usually come down during the first week in April during our Spring Break. I teach and coach wrestling and golf. One thing that amazes me is that every year the fishing at Table Rock is different, even though we come down the same week. I have learned a lot of techniques used on Table Rock first and brought them back to Michigan. Before the internet, Missouri was where I learned the latest techniques, before they were used up here. I'm concerned about all the flooding you are having and how it will affect our fishing when we arrive April 5. By the way, we had 15 inches of snow here yesterday. You seem like a great bunch of anglers. I've always fished Table Rock, but watching the video of the trout fishing looked like fun. We have some great spring trout fishing here in Michigan too. If any of you are coming up this way for a visit, let me know how I can help put you on some fish.

Have friends in the Baldwin area. They've said it's been a bear up there this winter.

I'd think by 4/5 Table Rock will have settled down a bit. At least you should be able to get a boat in by then. Fish should be settled into spring patterns.

It definitely has been a long winter. There is still a foot of ice on local lakes. I always enjoy coming down to Table Rock for spring break, even though we bring everything from shorts to snowmobile suits to wear, sometimes only a couple of days apart. Sounds like the water will still be high enough to still have the bushes in the water. Any tournaments going on this weekend on the Rock? I remember about 1986 or 87 the water coming up real high over night in the Little Aunts Creek area. After a couple of days, the fish moved up real shallow.

Welcome to the group. You will find an extraordinarily large group of nice people willing to share what they know.

The upper end of TR is starting to clear. The main channel flow from here at Holiday Island at least as far as Eagle Rock is merely dark, dingy instead of muddy. That is the water that lately was in Beaver. Leatherwood Creek and others are adding muddy water, but even that is beginning to clear at the backs of the creek. Right now the new water flow is the water that soaked in and oozed through rock before it made it to the creeks.

Rain between now and your arrival could muddy the picture (pun intended), but if the rain isn't bad, at least a part of the lake will be in fishable shape and should be on its way to prespawn/spawn stage. Let's all keep our fingers crossed.

Of course, right now, my problem is I need a boat to get out to my boat.

If it's not one thing it's another.

Good luck.
