Ha, yeah I was once I figured out that the only other walleye I heard of being caught there last year was one 10 incher. A friend that works at BassPro heard of someone who knew someones cousins brother or something like that that caught one down there on a nightcrawler. I had only been living in SF for a little while and knew its not uncommon for tailwater to told walleye so really didn't think a thing of it when I caught them, but later I relized that it was pretty cool to catch them. I guess there arn't all that many in there. They really weird thing is I wasn't even trying to catch them, just a #8 hook, slip bobber and minnows, they hit just like they would anywhere else. Just luck I guess, don't claim to be good or anything. HAHA anyways, hopefully I can get into those whites sometime. Cant beat running into a school of those males with lite tackle.

If you are gonna snag at the dam at springfield lake make sure you have a lot of hooks and sinkers. There are lots of snags and you lose a ton of a stuff. i went on sunday and had some luck with spooners and went back on wed. for about two hours and all i did was lost hooks.

Legbuster and I snagged up there at the dam today for several hours and caught a bunch of common carp. Those suckers were thick in there today! Never seen any spoons caught while we were there. Heard a guy saying that they had been catching a few earlier in the morning though.

I managed some carp scales yesterday afternoon and that was about it. It looked pretty good Sunday and I would have stayed with it for awhile but I ended up with waders full of water. The small leak I had in the waders turned into a big one fast. Hopefully the rain will slack off this afternoon and I can give it another try.

So what kind of gear to you guys use for snagging like this?

I've been using a baitcast reel, 65# braided line, and a flippin' stick. I have seen everything from big surf rods to pool cues with some guides tied on. Just make sure whatever you use has a good solid drag and the rod has some back bone. I've been using a 1 oz sinker and 6/0 bronze treble hook.
